Astrodudes Birthday! (P1)

This was NOT a request. Astrodude X Astrowife. No trigger warnings really but there is some Astrodude angst. It's mostly fluff!

Grey walls.. The depressing same ship as usual. He just wanted to go home. I miss my wife and kids thoughts plagued his mind.. His whole body hurt. It was his birthday today right? Honestly he had lost track of time a long time ago but sadly he has a job to do. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASTRODUDE." The computer said as Astrodude got up. He was still fairly injured and weak from the last mission Houston gave him but other than that he was fine. Well maybe not mentally considering I'm seeing talking planets.. "Hey computer."

He realized someone was outside his ship but then-"Oh hey Astrodude!" Luna said happily smiling at him Astrodude freaked out a little not expecting Luna to show up but quickly calmed down a little "Oh uh- yeah hey!" Astrodude waved nicely.. God I'm going insane "It's your birthday?" Astrodude nodded "Yep. You know what that is?" Luna nodded "Earth talks a lot about earthlings holidays and culture." Earth perked up "Wait it's Astrodudes birthday!? Happy birthday dude!" Astrodude was once again startled "Yeah thanks..!" Earth and Luna went away as Astrodude sighed in relief glad they were gone.

A few minutes later basically the whole solar system was outside of his ship. This couldn't be any worse. He's really lost it now huh? "HELLO ASTRODUDE!!" The sun yelled but it wasn't the sun was it? It was just some hallucination but at this point.. He's used to it. He's seeing a lot of planets he hasn't even spoken too before here as well what do they want? "Yeah what's up." Earth smiled "Well I told everyone it was your birthday and we decided to celebrate it!" Oh.

Now I wish Luna didn't overhear the computer. I already know this'll be a mess but might as well get it over with. "We even made you a cake!" A cake? Is Sun going to try and light up the candles again? Oh god I really don't want to be here. "Come out!! Earth to Astrodude!" Can't they just leave me alone..? "We even got gifts!" I can't really tell who's talking but oh well...They're not gonna leave me alone are they? "Alright alright. I'm coming out." I'd walk out of the shuttle and float around seeing they put up well somewhat decorations? It was just painted asteroids it seems the planet Uranus did it considering they put there name next to all of their pieces.

And as they said there was a cake sitting in the middle of them for him. It was (or atleast looked like it was) actually edible this time unlike the last time they'd given him a cake.. The Earth most likely made sure I could actually eat it. I looked more around and right over us were canvases each canvas had a letter. It spelled out "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" This was actually really sweet..? "Oh.. Uh thanks guys! This is actually really nice!" Phobos and Deimos smiled "We decorated the cake!" Astrodude smiled lightly at Phobos and Deimos "It looks really nice.." Phobos and Deimos seemed to be very happy "SEE! I KNEW HE'D LOVE IT!" they'd start running around joyfully.

There was quite a lot of chatter amongst the planets. I'd imagine they don't often get to hang out all together due to there respective orbits. The Sun was quite loud as usual "I HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!" Sun seemed offended I have no idea who he's talking to or what they said "I ALWAYS BRIGHT LIGHT TO A CONVERSATION HAAAAAHAHAHA GET IT?" Yeah no.. Anyway. Right they're out of their orbits! I've seen how mad the Sun can get when someone leaves their orbit so I'm actually shocked he's allowing this to even happen right now.. I don't talk to the planets often but even I know how strict the Sun can be.. "EVERYONE!!!! LISTEN UP!" The Sun yelled out startling me a bit "WE'RE GONNA PLAY PARTY GAMES AND WHOEVER WINS GETS A SUN TROPHY!!" Ah.. Yeah the Party games. I'm just hoping it goes well.

Well it turns out in space there's quite a lot of games we can't play. The Earth doesn't have access to most supplies to make most fun party games and even if he did a lot of them would be much more difficult to do in space or with planets. I do know they have Cards and turns out the dwarf planet Makemake had let the planets borrow his.. What was it Dungeons and dwarf planets? Wait isn't that just DND? It looks like it. "Okay Astrodude! Do you want to play Space poker!" Ah so that's what they were playing.. I've seen them play cards but I had no idea what the hell they were playing. I don't think they know the rules I've observed their games before and... Well I have no idea what they're doing. I think they just come up with rules at this point. "Uh.. Space Poker?"

Well now were playing Space Poker. Everyone was around playing and oddly enough Neptune forced this asteroid he named Guillermo. Does Neptune paint as well or did Uranus make it for him? Oh well he seems convinced this 'Guillermo' is sentient and wouldn't play without him having a deck. most of them were confused as to how to play but Earth, Mars, Venus and Mercury seemed to be fine which was expected. Jupiter was getting the hang of it and was helping Saturn play properly which was pretty nice of him actually. "Go fish!" Neptune yelled out and Uranus just sighed "No.. Mate this is poker.. Earth just explained to us how to play it." Neptune just stood in silence frog blinking before asking "What's poker?" Oh this is going to be a LONG day.

Well I had NO idea how to play but despite that it was a pretty fun time! I wasn't really expecting to have fun! Mercury won and Venus started accusing him of cheating which was actually pretty funny but terrifying to watch go down. Mercury had received his sun trophy and everyone was once again talking and bickering with each other. Surprisingly I wasn't been bombarded by the other planets which was nice. They seemed a bit occupied talking to planets they already were close with or talking to planets they couldn't see very often due to the orbits they have.

Honestly I prefer no one talkin- "Hey Astrodude!" "AAAAAAH!" Astrodude was startled but quickly composed himself "Oh- It's just you Luna.. Hey Luna!" Luna smiled lightly "We're going to grab some cake and open your gifts soon!" Huh.. Well that's nice "Alright uh yeah.. seems nice!" Luna floated away going back to Earth. Earth seemed to be talking with Mars as he usually does. It was a nice environment and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I don't know why they're doing all of this though. I don't talk particularly often to the planets hell I've never spoken to most of the planets and moons here so this was a nice surprise! A few minutes had passed and once again the Sun yelled "EVERYONEE! WE'RE DOING THE CAKE THING AND GIFT OPENING NOW!"

Astrodude floated there in front of the cake and presents as the planets and moons sang Happy birthday. Honestly he wasn't expecting his day to go like this and you know what? It wasn't even that bad! Before I knew it a slice of the cake was being handed towards me. I grabbed the slice and quickly went back to my shuttle to eat it. I wasn't sure what the flavor was but I took a bite anyway and.. It was coffee flavored? Well that's a pleasant surprise! Wait.. Can the planets or moons even eat this? Well I'm guessing they can since they're grabbing a slice except Sun and Earth. I guess Sun can't even eat it due to the fact that it'd burn up immediately.. Earth? I don't know maybe it's because of his humans or.. Earthlings as he calls us. Interesting!
