(Joseph)
"We'll be heading out, thanks Bill!" Joseph uttered as he and Jed waved goodbye to Bill. Joseph and Jed exited outside the gates of the villa. Joseph looked down to the road realizing that they still needed to walk around five to ten minutes down the mountain to get a ride home.
"Time to walk, Jed." Joseph said tiringly as he hit Jed's head and slowly started to walk. Jed quickly walked to be at the same pace with Joseph. Now they were walking side by side with each other.
Joseph and Jed just walked down the steep road with a comforting silence surrounding them. The crickets were chirping, the lizards clicking their tongues, and the sky was filled with bright stars. Joseph looked around and simply admired the view.
"Joseph by the way." Jed said to break the silence surrounding them. "Hm?" Joseph asked in reply. "What strand are you picking? We're about to graduate Junior High School and we're going to be Seniors soon."
Joseph was astonished by the question. "What about you?" Joseph asked Jed back to give himself some time to think. He had never actually thought about this. Joseph never planned about what he would do in the future. He was the type to go where the wind would take him.
"I'm going to choose ABM probably. It suits my strengths and what I'm good at. I'll probably take Accounting as my course once I get to college." Jed explained fully. Joseph was surprised. Jed already had everything planned for his future.
"I'm fucked." Joseph sighed whilst they continued walking down. "I don't have anything planned" He added.
Joseph couldn't help but think if this was bad. He never thought anything about his future. He thought living life in the present was enough.
"That's not so bad."
Joseph's eyes widened as Jed unexpectedly reassured him. Joseph always had the thought that his type of thinking was the type to get looked down by everyone who heard it. His parents always thought that way. Why are you so blockheaded? Why are you so stubborn at advice that we give you. Joseph knew they had some sense in their words, he just never bothered to actually listen to them.
"I mean, to be honest it's best to always have some type of plan." 𝘏𝘦'𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴. "Plans guide you and make you get through life easier. I don't think having zero plans is the best idea but I don't frown you at the same time." Jed advised as Joseph quietly listened.
"We're still young, and not everyone in our age has a clear path on what they want in their life. I mean seriously, even I'm sure my plan isn't going to be as concrete as it is. You can't find a goal without finding yourself first."
𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘩𝘶𝘩. Joseph smiled at the thought. It was cheesy, but Joseph would lie if he didn't appreciate Jed's words. "I didn't expect this from you." Joseph replied jokingly. Jed chuckled as a response. "Seriously though, no need to be pressured on not having a plan. The more time passes the more you get closer to getting to know what you want to achieve."
Joseph didn't reply a single word, but he appreciated Jed's words. He was never the emotional person. Joseph wasn't the type to express that he was sad or was going through something. He just stayed quiet, and to him that was enough.
They continued walking a few more minutes in silence and Joseph could start to hear the car noises on the bright road just a few minutes away from them. Joseph celebrated as he wanted to rest to get ready for tomorrow. It was their first day in class. Everyone in their friend group were going to the same school so they would still see each other. The only one who didn't go to the same school was Gio, Mikee's cousin.
