Mycroft graduated school at age 17. A year earlier. So did Sherlock. I graduated at the age of 18 (almost 19) at the regular age. This really frickin annoyed me because all my school life, the only thing that kept me going was the goal of graduating at 17 like both my brothers. So when I was denied to take the early grad exams, I fell apart. I remember bursting into years when we got the letter. Mycroft read it as he always read everyone's letters. I remember seeing the heavy font in the EARLY GRADUATION DENIAL
Mycroft gave me something close to a sympathetic smile and patted me awkwardly on the shoulder.
Mum had tried to console me, saying that graduating early wasn't that great.
I'd like to say that that set back made me strive even harder for excellence but it smashed my heart to smithereens.
When I finally graduated, it was bitter sweet. I went to one of the lesser known universities and got my degree in teaching and psychology.
