Akhlaq's POV

"Mister Saad aftaab Azmi, are you sure we are on the right place"

I said kicking the small stones lying on the road,
It's been almost an hour there was no buses

"Yes, I am sure a bus will definitely be here for kunjanwadi. Its where that maternity centre is."

"Wait, kunjanwadi? Isn't that where my ammi and our abba lived ?"

"Yes, you dumbo that's why we have to go back to their home town."

I heard a lot about kunjanwadi, the town of lies. there were only 2 schools back in that town and only one college from where my father and aftaab uncle graduated.

"The bus is here, let's goo"

Saad ran for the bus, and I climbed behind him.
It was an old bus with a lot of dust and bad odour.
But we have reached there anyhow.

I am actually very curious about aftaab uncle now.
How many wives does this man have?
Can he not be loyal to one?
I mean, I get it. He is my best buddy's father. But there's something actually wrong.
I believe we will know about it soon.
But I can stop thinking about her.
Her amber eyes, her silver nose ring,
Her burgundy hair, her fair skin.
My head is filled with her beautiful charms.
I don't know. I have never felt like this before.
Maybe it was just.. a small attraction.
I guess.....

"Akhlaq, Sir what are you daydreaming about?"
Saad uttered while snapping his finger across my face.

"Get out of my face, it's all because of
You"

"What did I do?"

"पुढचा थांबा कुंजनवाडी, कुजनवाडी वाले पुडे चाला"
( The next stop is Kunjanwadi, people from Kunjanwadi head in the front)

The bus conductor screamed in marathi,
Which made me and saad both flinch.

We got down at bus station. The signs saying Kunjanwadi.

"Let's goo it's ten minutes walking from here."
I hummed a yes in response.

"Saad"
"Hmm?"
"Are you sure we are doing the right thing? Do you trust aftaab uncle?"
"I don't know akhlaq" his voice was calm and as soothing as the waves hittingthe shore.
"I just want to know because I can't see my abba in pain anymore."

We walked down a narrow alley.
At road signs said " Plus health hospital and maternity care centre".
Shivers ran down my spine.
I don't want Saad to get hurt because I am sure he won't hurt someone, instead he will blame himself for something he didn't do or deserve.

White marble stairs leading to the hospital,
The smell of medicines rushed down my nose as we entered the hospital.
Saad directly went towards the reception.

" Ma'am "
"Good afternoon, sir" The old nurse replied.
"I want you to tell me every single detail of a patient named Zaiba Khan.
She was here 35 years ago
When I mean every single each and every detail of her."

The nurse gulped down in the air that was soaked in the hospital environment.
I don't know, but something about Saad intimidates me too.
She started punching her fingers on the computer.
She was scared of Saad's fatal brown eyes they were ready to eat her alive.

"Sir, she is dead her son is also supposed to be dead,"
"Suppose to be dead, What the hell do you mean by that?"
"I do not know, Sir."
"Okay, people who performed the surgery? Who were they"
"In the records it says Doctor Ishaan, and a nurse who was an intern that time named samiara, she also currently admitted here"
