The Romanticisation of French love, but french family is on the otherhand ironic

In French movies, there's always some sort of going on holiday, in your youth and falling in love with a dashing tall, dark, handsome young man. This is a theme from the 50s with Alain Delon staring in "Purple Noon" and "Year of the Jellyfish" 1984.

An era of Atlantic collaboration helped cement the infatuation with France like Vidal, discovering some of France's most notable sliver-screen actors like Alain and Dalida. Gene Kelly's "An American In Paris," and the "Charade," with Audrey Hepburn.

Even more recently with Emily in Paris, her whirlwind quick romance. The thing is though, after a couple dates in say 2 weeks and kiss - crosses that dating boundary of physical comfort, thats mutual feeling, thus dating and serious, but last shorter because of the commitment.

But ironically cheating, is something that treated quite iffy! For example cheating for the cheater themselves - they think of this as a more of a 'in the heat of moment type of thing.'  See the lyrics of Diam's - Confessions nocturnes, which was a hit song.

Also, say if it become marriage, French women are expected to work with 80 per cent doing so, if they don't can be judged for as they seen as a 'maman' living of welfare or their partner, which for expats can feel awkward having to be.

This somewhat similar to Japan, but usually the wife manages household finances and has a part-time job to finance her own activities, but in France, contributes to household finances. Irregardless, Motherhood can be quite isolating, anywhere of course to have rebuild your social circle and spending lots with your child.
