COTE: Behind the Mask

𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓅𝓉𝑒𝓇 1

In the morning of the buzzling city of Tokyo you could see two individuals sitting next to each other in a black limousine. One of them was a boy with brown hair and emotionless golden eyes. Meanwhile the other individual was a girl with lilac colored hair and mesmerizing violet eyes.

Kiyotaka's POV
I looked at the beautiful scenery that could be seen from the window. Suddenly my girlfriend next to me started talking. "Kiyo, are you excited?" I turned my head to see her, she looked beautiful like always. "Kind of?" I more likely asked than stated. She giggled lightly. "Everything will be fine Kiyo!" she said smiling.

"We are here," said our driver. "Let's go Kiyo!" Arisu stated immediately getting out of the car. "Thanks for driving us," I thanked the driver while getting out of the car. I bowed slightly before he drove off.

As we walked through the school hallway, some students started talking about us.

"That girl looks kinda cute"

"Who is that boy?"

"He looks really handsome!"

Arisu held onto my arm and pouted slightly as she heard the compliments some girls gave me. She then whispered something that I wasn't able to hear.

On our way to the Chairman's office I heard people talking. "Horikita-san?" "Akane, I already told you to call me Manabu"
"Like I said you're the student council president so I need to treat you with respect!"

After we turned around the corner I saw 2 figures. A guy with dark grey hair and a girl with 2 purple buns. The guy seemed to be pretty intelligent. "Hello," I greeted first to get their attention. When they heard me they turned to look at me. "May I ask who you both are?" he asked. "My name is Ayanokoji Kiyotaka," I answered. "I'm Sakayanagi Arisu" Arisu followed after. "Excuse me but are you by possibility the Chairman's daughter?" the girl asked. "Yes" answered Arisu short. "So you are Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.." the guy whispered but still audible to hear. "My name is Horikita Manabu. I'm the student council president." he spoke again. "This is Tachibana Akane my secretary" Tachibana bowed slightly. "Pleased to meet you Horikita-senpai" smiled Arisu.

3rd POV
"What brings you here?" Horikita asked. "We're on our way to my father's office," Sakayanagi answered. "Horikita-san we need to go," Tachibana said while looking at her phone. "Well then, it was nice to meet you both" "Same here student council president," Ayanokoji said. "Let's see what happens Ayanokoji Kiyotaka," Horikita whispered as he passed by Ayanokoji.

The couple made it's way to the office door. "Father are you in there?" Sakayanagi asked while knocking on the door. "You can enter Arisu," answered the man.

Kiyotaka's POV
I opened the door and let Arisu enter first. "Thank you Kiyo" she thanked me. "Hello Arisu and hello to you to Kiyotaka" Narumori-san greeted us. "Hello father," Arisu said walking to her father to hug him. "Hello Narumori-san. It's nice to see you again." I greeted back and bowed slightly. After all he's the chairman and Arisu's father, so I need to treat him with respect. "No need for the honorifics Kiyotaka" he said waving his hands. "Alright, the entrance ceremony will start in 10 minutes. You better hurry if you don't wanna be late."
"It was nice seeing you father" Narumori-san waved at us as we closed the door. We made our way to the hall where the entrance ceremony takes place.

3rd POV
When the couple arrived, more and more people gathered. Some females were staring at Ayanokoji and blushed slightly. As soon as Sakayanagi saw this she began clinging onto Ayanokoji's arm and glared at the girls. They then immediately looked away when they saw Sakayanagi's stare.

Arisu's POV
Hmpf. Can't they see that my Kiyo is already taken. Just as I was thinking about those girls who glanced at Kiyo, the lights turned off and the spotlights shone on the stage.

3rd POV
Almost all students were looking towards the stage, but some were still talking.

"Welcome to Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School. I am Manabu Horikita, the Student Council President." as he began talking, everyone was listening. "This institution was established by the Japanese government to nurture the young people who will support the country in the future. Our school boasts a 100% advancement rate to higher education and employment. You all must have passed rigorous entrance exams to get here.

But let me make one thing clear: from now on, the school will evaluate you based on your performance, not your past achievements. We value talent and ability above all else. Here, you will be judged purely on your own merit.

There will be no special treatment, no matter who you are or where you come from. The future of Japan rests in your hands, and we expect you to devote yourselves fully to your studies and personal growth. Strive to become the best version of yourselves, and make the most of the opportunities you are given here.

Once again, welcome to our prestigious institution. May your journey here be fruitful and fulfilling." Horikita finished.

The lights turned on and he left the stage.

Kiyotaka's POV
When he finished his speech, I watched the students from the other classes. In class D there was a girl with shoulder-length beige hair and crimson colored eyes. She seemed to be good at socialising. There was also a boy in class D with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes, he also looked like he was good at socialising.

I also saw a boy from class C with magenta hair and magenta eyes. There was also a bodyguard next to him. He'll most likely be the leader in their class.

Now class B, there was a girl with waist-length strawberry-blonde hair. She surely looked beautiful, but of course Arisu is prettier. Many people were surrounding her, she's probably also good at socialising.

Many students already left. We should probably also get going. "Let's go Arisu"

We arrived at our classroom and I opened the door. Some of our classmates were looking at us. "Hello," a boy with blonde hair tied in a ponytail greeted us as we entered the classroom. "Hey, I'm Hashimoto Masayoshi" he continued. "Sakayanagi Arisu, nice to meet you Hashimoto-kun," announced Arisu. "Are you the chairman's daughter?" Hashimoto asked. She nodded in response. "Nice to meet you Sakayanagi-san. And who are you?" he asked again looking at me. "Ayanokoji Kiyotaka" I answered short after.

Just as he was about to continue the conversation, the door opened.
