At the ranch, Lila met the owner, Jack Carter. He was a ruggedly handsome cowboy, tall and muscular, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to look right through her. His confidence was evident in the way he moved and spoke, a stark contrast to the men she was used to in the music industry.

"Welcome, Lila," Jack said, his voice deep and commanding. "I hope you find what you're looking for here."

Lila nodded, feeling a strange flutter in her chest. "Thank you, Jack. I just need some peace and quiet."

"You'll get that here," he assured her. "But don't think you'll be lounging around all day. We expect everyone to pitch in."

Lila was taken aback but intrigued. "I can handle that."

Jack's stern demeanor softened a bit as he showed her to the cozy cabin that would be her home for the next few weeks. It was simple but comfortable, with a small kitchen, a fireplace, and a view that took her breath away.

"Rest up tonight," Jack said. "We start early around here."
