It's been two days, two days that I can't stop thinking about John and his death. Even though the sheriff told me it was just an accident, I can't stop thinking that it's not an accident, it must be more, I'm sure of it.

Yesterday, after my little brother's class, we went to this famous memorial. There was a big black-and-white photo of John on the wall, and we were given candles to light for the minute's silence. I hadn't even noticed that Oli had disappeared, I glanced around when I found him far behind with Sam, suddenly I turned my head towards the mayor who had just spoken, when I tried to call Oli and Sam, they were gone, they'd disappeared in a minute, I was looking for them when Derek, Sam's father, lit my candle with his. I return his smile out of politeness, Derek and I are quite close, he and his wife Lara have always been there for my family, Lara and my mother are very close and Derek is a doctor, so during my childhood I saw a lot of him. I also remember doing an internship with Lara, because she's a journalist and I'm passionate about writing, and she offered me the internship with open arms.

- What's up, Doctor?" I said, referring to Bugs Bunny as usual, which made him laugh.

- You'll never grow up," he huffed, then paused for a moment before saying: "It's horrible what happened to John, Samantha's in despair, I hope things are going well for you.

- I'd say Oliver's holding it together, but doesn't want to talk about it.

- It's the same with Sam, in fact I had a question about her.

- Hmm," I say curiously.

- Did you notice anything about Samantha in the last few days, anything special, was she acting strange, or did she say anything to you or Oliver?

- Nothing, except that lately she's been alone with Oliver a lot, and they've disappeared, but why do you ask?

- I'm worried, it's probably paternal instinct, I just don't think she confides in anyone, but I'm glad she's talking to Oliver.

- I'm also glad Oli's talking to someone. But I wonder where they went," I say.- Don't worry, he should be back soon.

The mayor said a few words before declaring the start of the minute's silence. After that, a few people laid flowers or objects such as teddy bears.

At the end of the commemoration, Oliver and Sam weren't there yet, and that's when I saw them jump off a wall of the school to come back as if nothing had happened.

I went to him to tell him we were going and said goodbye to Sam.

The drive was silent, and when we arrived in front of our house, I couldn't wait to ask him before he went out:

- Where have you been?

- He said incredulously
