"MOM PLEASE, i can't" madeleine pleaded. giving her mom her famous puppy dog eyes.
madeleine's mom gave her a look before talking, "madeleine grey this is the last time i say this, you have to go."
they were talking about how madeleine did not, i mean did not want to go around and talk to people. she dreaded these things. she hated being around anyone except her bestfriends.
madeleine groaned, she looked around at the cookout. watching all the little kids running around and giggling. she smiled sweetly at a kid that looked at her before looking miserably at her mother.
"just say you hate me mom."
madeleine was currently at the towns annual cookout that was hosted every year, with everyone invited. madeleine sighed walking away from her mother and going to talk to her bestfriend.
sloane smiled at her sweetly before running over to her and giving her a tight hug, "ugh i missed you, plus you ate with this outfit"
"stop it i love you." madeleine smiled looking at her bestfriend.
sloane smiled before saying she'll be right back and running to her girlfriend margot. maddy loved how her bestfriend was in love. she admired them before her neighbor came up to her.
madeleine forced a smile on her face as mrs. winters started to talk to the girl.
"hello madeleine how are you sweetheart! your so big now ugh i remember when you were a baby."
madeleine just nodded as the sweet old lady kept talking. "thank you mrs. winters."
madeleine looked around before bringing her eyes back to mrs. winters. "so sweetie why dont you have a boyfriend? i heard your last relationship didnt end very well?"
madeleine's eyes shot open wide hearing those words, she havent even thought about easton in months let alone think abt another guy.
easton and maddy's break up really broke her. she didnt leave her room for weeks after the breakup.
"well uh — i — i uh actually have a boyfriend!"
madeleine smiled at the women making up the stupidest lie ever. she didn't know what she was saying, she thought of the only thing to get her out of this conversation.
mrs. winter's gasped and clapped her hands at madeleine's words, "oh hunny who is it!"
madeleine looked around desperately seeing a tall boy standing next to a tree looking bored, quickly pointing at him.
"oh thats him right there!" madeleine laughed sweetly, quickly grabbing the guy and pulling him to her side. the guy looked around confused.
maddy quickly whispered please play along. she didn't know who the guy was but she didnt care nor did she want to knoe at the moment.
"oh wow! hes a very handsome boy, but you guys dont look very couply dont you?"
madeleine looked at the women confused before reaching up and grabbing the guys face, putting her soft lips onto his. maddy felt the guy kiss back melting into the kiss.
he pulled madeleine's waist pulling her closer to him, before she pulled away. quickly looking away her she could see his face.
mrs. winters looked at them stunned before smiling at them and walking away.
"holy shit, thank you for saving my as—" madeleine looked up at the guy, looking shocked to see the one and only matt sturniolo.
she couldn't believe it was him, her annoying next door neighbor shes known since she moved to boston.
he stood their staring at her before saying something to the curly haired girl.
"so you just kiss guy's for fun infront of old ladies?"
madeleine's mouth dropped open, not knowing what to answer to his snarky comment.
"one no i dont, i was trying to save my ass from having that poor old lady set me up with someone i didnt even know."
matt laughed, slapping his knee. looking up at the girl noticing she wasn't laughing.
"oh shit you weren't lying."
madeleine crossed her arms, looking up at the brunette boy infront of her. matt stood their for a second admiring the girl in-front of him. he smirked at her and started to walk away.
"well see ya later curly."
madeleine scoffed, trying to say something but words couldn't form. she watched him walk away not knowing what to do.
