Grace was very bored.
Sitting in class all day, listening to whatever the teacher was teaching was just boring. She liked school but today, she was just not feeling it. She went about her day hanging with her friends and talking to her girlfriend. She gets a lot of hate for dating a girl, and even more for dating Ari, a rebel at Dancity High. She always drags Grace into trouble even though she wants to do what's right. When walking with Ari, talking about her next big prank, Grace looks to her right towards the principals office. She sees a hooded figure and a blue skinned woman alongside the principal. She couldn't get a good look from where she was so she decided to keep walking. As she and Ari walked into their next class, Grace was immediately called to the principal's office for a meeting with some man and his wife. She reluctantly agreed and slowly walked out the door. Ari grabbed her arm and told her not to go. Grace told her she would be back, squeezed her hand and walked out the door. As she walked towards the Principal's office, she heard voices from inside. As she pushed the door open, she saw the king and queen of the danceverses standing there, asking to speak to her. As the principal walked out, the door shut and it was just the three of them in the room.
"What did you need to talk about, your majesty?" Grace asked, extremely nervous.
"We just need to ask, do you know about what happened to my son, Grace?" He asked and the woman just looked into her eyes.
"Uh, didn't he get captured by NightSwan or something?" She replied, hoping that was a good enough answer.
"Yes, he did. I tried to tell him not to go. He was determined it was the prophecy, telling him it was his time, but it wasn't. People think he's dead. I know he's not. I need your help. You're going to help me get him back." What did he just say? She was the one to help him? Sure she knew about the prophecy, but she didn't think she would be the one to help the king and queen of all people.
"I'll give you my number. Contact me whether you are up for the challenge or not." With that the king opened a portal and started walking before Grace called out. "Wait! Who else will be there? It won't be just me right?" She asked.
"You'll find out soon enough." He stepped through the portal and so did the queen. She was left alone until she walked out of the office back towards the classroom. How could she focus on school now? Once she got back, Ari bombarded her with questions, even if Grace said not to worry. She didn't feel like she needed to tell her what happened in the office. Once classes were over, she had to go to a student council meeting. She really didn't want to. She wanted to go home and take a nap. Or finish her homework. Probably both.
Once the really boring meeting was over, she made her way back home. As she walked, she passed the Dynamite Diner. She heard it's really good. She'll have to try sometime with Ari. As she walked towards the subway to go home, she noticed a man and woman arguing about something. She saw they were students at another high school but ultimately decided to stay out of their drama. Suddenly her body started to move toward the couple.
"Hi! Is everything okay over here? I heard you guys arguing from over there." Grace asked, not knowing why she was over here in the first place.
"Oh dear! I'm so sorry you had to hear that. Have a good day!" The woman said as she walked away holding hands with the man.
Why did she do that? That wasn't her business. She thought about that incident all the way home. Once she finally arrived home, she walked to her room upstairs and when she opened the door, Ari was sitting on her bed, scrolling on her phone. When Grace walked in and shut the door, that was when Ari noticed her.
"There you are! I was wondering when you would get home. We were supposed to walk together but you weren't anywhere in sight." Ari said, slightly sad that her girlfriend didn't want to walk with her.
"Oh my god, Ari I'm so sorry! I didn't know. I had a meeting and I guess I was too tired to remember." Ari forgave her and they talked for a while, just enjoying each other's presence. Once Ari left, Grace started to panic. How could she forget her own girlfriend? She walks with her everyday. How could she forget? As she panicked, her phone went off. It was about a fight that happened near Dynamite Diner. Apparently, one of the co-owners got in a fight with a.. Swan minion? What is that? It looks bird like but also like a soldier. Who sent them? She thought about it until her phone went off again. It was The Traveler. He asked her if she was still up for the challenge. What would she do? She needed more time to think. As she thought, the room suddenly got colder. As she walked down the hall to turn the thermostat up, but it was already at 74 degrees. As she walked back, she wondered, why chills when it's warm inside? When she walked into her room, the chills came back. But they weren't from the cold. They were telling her something. She needed to accept this mission, whether she liked it or not. She picked up her phone from her bed and typed, "okay whatever you need, I'm ready." She sent it but she didn't feel ready. She was nervous and scared. She ultimately decided to let it go until the next day. She walked across the hall to the bathroom and got her hair and teeth brushed. She also removed her makeup and cleaned her face. Once she walked out, she grabbed some pj's and changed out of her school outfit. Her outfit was A pink and blue crop with little hearts and some pink sweatpants. As she sat down on her bed to finish her homework, she got a notification. It was from her classmates, including Ari. It was just them talking about the fight that happened earlier. She ignored them and finished her homework. After that she grabbed a snack and headed back to her room to just relax and unwind from the tiring day. She felt more ready as she was starting to grasp the situation. The king and queen needed her help to save his son and his friends. She was ready, as long as she had someone to help her and the king was by her side, she was ready.
After a little while, The King responded with,
"Meet me at Dynamite Diner at 8:30. Don't be late."
"Okay your majesty. Whatever you need."
