Lucy Heartfilia was a powerful celestial wizard, one who brought fear to the hearts of many enemies in battle. Her strength comes from her family, her love for both her celestial spirits and her guild. After the Grand Magic Games, she turned into an unrecognizable force from the old Lucy. Joining Fairytail all those years ago built upon her abilities. She was no longer the girl who had to count on others to save her; she saved herself. She loved her guild members with her heart and soul, especially her team members, and one in particular: Natsu. Before, at least.
Natsu Dragneel remained one of the strongest wizards (and dragon slayers) in Fiore, but he lost his best friend. Every job he takes on now reminds him of the blonde celestial wizard who is no longer by his side, like a piece missing from his puzzle. He feels the loss of her in every glimpse he gets of her in the guild, knowing he was no longer ever on the end of that smile.
Before, they were best friends, thick as thieves, and nothing could break their bond. Or so it was thought. While Lucy's friendships with everyone else in the guild remained strong, Natsu and her, for reasons never understood by their guild mates, drifted from each other. This rift caused both of them to weaken, not understanding that they were each other's greatest source of strength, not understanding just how much they meant to each other, until many years had past since they last truly knew each other.
Besides them, though, their guildmates are brewing up complications in their own stories with each other.

A/N: though no one is really reading this so an authors note is kind of irrelevant but like that's okay, i just couldn't help but want to write this after the 15th ending song of the anime. the lyrics, the music, the scenes that accompany it inspired me enough to want to get back into writing. this story (if it even gets to that) is kind of to go with the song. it's completely inspired by it. it's based off of what i saw and heard, and i couldn't find anything that i matched how i felt during it, so i decided to try and write something else. this is my first fanfiction, and will hopefully be the one story i finish, if just for myself! if this does reach someone, i hope you like my interpretation of this beautiful song.
