Prologue
ELLIE
"Good evening, my artist bestie!"
A smile crept on my lips when I saw the soft smile of my best friend on the other line. "Good morning here in San Francisco, Ai."
I switched the camera on back cam to allow her to see the iconic golden gate bridge of San Francisco. Not to mention, sobrang ganda ng ulap ngayong umaga.
"You're blooming lately. Are you dating someone?"
I laughed at that. "Me? Dating someone? I have a busy schedule, Ainsley. I have no time for boys. It's either they break my heart or break my heart. Retired na ako diyan, ate."
"Si bes, ang daming sinabi?" humalakhak siya sa kabilang linya kaya nadamay na rin ako. No matter how I look at Ainsley, she's always elegant. Maganda na siya tignan sa television or cinema screens, maganda pa siya in a natural way.
"Oh baka naman..."
"Ano na naman?" natatawa kong tanong. Pumasok na ako sa penthouse para kuhanin ang nibake kong cookies. I've been craving for it ever since last night. I woke up early to buy some earlier.
"Baka naman siya pa rin?"
"Sino?"
"Do you really want me to drop his full name, Elizabeth Aly Dy Beltran?"
"As if I'm scared, duh."
"Okay. Baka naman... si Tristan Aldrich Gutierrez Sivan pa rin ang trip ng puso mo?" she shrieked in laughters on the other line when my face crumpled like a paper. "Hoy, gaga. Move on din!"
"I moved on, okay!" I defended myself after removing the tray inside the electric oven. "You're just the one who keeps on pushing me. The guy's surely not interested with me."
"Did I just hear a disappointed tone?" natatawa niyang tanong. "We're keeping in touch, you know? He's still single, ah. Malay natin, love is sweeter the second time around!"
"We've already decided to live our separate ways, Ainsley," tinitigan ko siya sa phone. "Let the guy live his life. He made it clear that he doesn't want me in his life anymore."
Ano ba 'to? Kainis.
"Alat ba ng cookies?"
"I'm hanging up," I had enough.
"Just kidding, okay?! I just missed you so much."
"Araw-araw tayong magkausap."
"I'm missing you more even if you'll be here tomorrow," napangiti ako roon. "Ayan na. Nakangiti na siya ulit."
"Just so you know, I don't want you to fetch me, okay?" I told her firmly, glaring at her when she laughed. "I had enough paparazzi with these celebrities here!"
I get so stressed whenever I remember what happened last week. I was commissioned to do event designing in one of USA's famous celebrities but guess what?! They thought I was the non-showbiz girlfriend!
I was glad that the REAL girlfriend was kind and didn't put any malice on those allegations. It's not that I'm bragging, I am well-aware that I am gorgeous. Duh.
It's just that, ang uncomfortable.
"Noted, sis. I'll tell Tristan to fetch you then!"
"You wom—!"
