Chapter 1

Colet POV

I woke up early today since I had a flight back to the Philippines. I've been living here sa states for 10 years now and my parents wants me to study sa Philippines and meet some relatives there.

I went downstairs para kumain dahil I didn't want to eat sa plane kaya dito nalang sa bahay.

"Oh Colet, halika na dito at kumain kana. Baka ma late ka sa flight mo ha."

Mom said while giving me plate.

"Opo, dadalian ko nalang po."

I said. I never really forgot how to speak tagalog since that's how mom and dad speaks dito sa house if not kausap yung mga kaibigan nila na Americans.

After I ate agad naman akong tumayo at kinuha ang suitcase ko.

"Ma, pupunta na Ako. Paki sabi nalang kay dad ha. Ingat kayo dito."

Paalam ko kay mama. Wala nanaman si dad, mas maaga pa umalis para sa work niya. Di ko manlang na abutan.

"Oh sige anak. Mag ingat ka dun ah, susunduin ka ng pinsan mo na si Mikha at mama niya. Pakabait ka dun."

Bilin ni mama saakin and I just nodded. I kissed her cheek before going outside since nandun nadin ang driver namin. Agad naman akong pumasok sa kotse and our driver immediately drove sa airport.

I knew this is going to be a long year. Mom and dad can't come with me because super busy sila sa work kaya I'll be living alone sa bahay namin dun sa Philippines. I just hope they can go there din soon.

Once Colet arrived at the airport...

I boarded na agad and after waiting for a little while sumakay na Ako sa plane. I went to sleep kase medyo matatagalan toh.

A few hours later...

I woke up after we landed already. I went to the airport and there I heard someone call me.

"Nicolette!"

I turned to see who that was and I recognized that it was Mikha and her mom. I immediately walked towards them and they both hugged me.

"Welcome back, Nico."

Auntie greeted.

"Welcome cous."

Mikha greeted too.

"Ahh thanks po."

I replied and nag mano na din kay auntie.

"Oh tara na at alam kung pagud ka. Gutom kana ba? Pwede tayong pumunta muna sa bahay para kumain."

Auntie said.

"Ah no need auntie, busog pa naman po ako. Deretso nalang po tayo sa bahay namin if okay lang po."

I said.

"Oh sige. Tara na."

Auntie said as Mikha helped me with my luggage and led me to their car. Soon we entered their car at umupo na ako sa backseat habang si Mikha ang nag drive while si Auntie naman ang nasa passenger seat.

"Same school ka din naka enroll diba cous?"

Mikha asked while focusing on the road parin.

"Ahh oo. Kailan nga pala pasok?"

I asked.

"Malapit na rin eh, two weeks nalang."

Mikha replied. Eventually we arrived sa house namin at agad naman akong lumabas ng sasakyan at kinuha ang mga luggage ko. Sinundan naman ako ni auntie habang nasa kotse lang si Mikha at nag aantay.
