Ba-Dum...Ba-Dum...Ba-Dum...Ba-Dum.... With my head on his chest, his heartbeat was all I could hear. I was vaguely aware of the movie playing on the television, but I didn't care about it one bit. I focused all of my attention on him, and the steady thrumming of his heart. His hand traced patterns absently on my back, and his chest moved with the rhythm of his breathing. I moved with it, the way I laid on top of him, and with every breath, His heart beat on, as if only for me.

Every so often, Mark would break the trance I was under, moving ever so gently to press a kiss to the top of my head. I'm not even sure he knew that he was doing it, as if it were a reflex that he simply couldn't help. And after every kiss, I would snuggle back into his chest, sighing happily as he tightened his arm around me for a moment. Then, it was back to listening. Ba-Dum...Ba-Dum...Ba-Dum....

Eventually, that rhythm lulled me to sleep, as it had so often before. The sound of the movie we had been watching faded in the distance, but the beating of his heart did not; It echoed on in my dreams. I didn't wake when the movie ended, and I continued to sleep contentedly as Mark lifted me into his arms. I never stirred until he placed me in his bed and began to lift the covers over me. As my eyes fluttered open, Mark cracked a sleepy smile, and leaned down to kiss me. "Stay the night," he whispered, "You're too tired to drive."

Rather than answer with words, I groaned and reached for him, sitting up. Mark giggled and sat on the edge of the bed, hugging me. "Sweetheart, go to sleep," he whispered, kissing my cheek. "If you need me, I'll be right downstairs."

I hugged him tighter, not wanting him to go. I wanted to fall asleep beside him, and wake up in his arms. Finally, Mark seemed to understand what I was trying to tell him.

"...Do you want me to stay?"

I looked up at him, still not saying a word, and smiled.

Mark smiled back, and leaned in to kiss me. Not another word was exchanged, but Mark climbed into bed beside me, setting his glasses on the end table beside the bed, and turned toward me. I backed myself up into his embrace, and pulled the blankets up to my chin. Mar snuggled as close to me as he could get, kissing my hair. With the steady sound of his breathing behind me, I fell asleep in a matter of minutes.

I woke up to the distinct feeling of my boyfriend pressed firmly against my side, and his warm lips trailing themselves along my neck. I groaned and tried to roll away, but with a smile on my face. Mark growled at me and forcefully pulled me back to him, placing one more lingering kiss to my shoulder. "Good morning, beautiful," he whispered, nuzzling gently into my neck again. His scruffy beard tickled, but I only smiled and lifted my head to give him better access.

"Good morning," I giggled.

Mark gently rolled me onto my back and hovered over me, grinning. He leaned down and kissed me properly this time, his lips moving slowly and gently against mine. "I have something to ask you," He mumbled against my lips, refusing to break the kiss fully.

I giggled as I continued to kiss him. "Is that why you're sucking up right now?"

"Sucking up?" He muttered, as if offended, "Never, my love. I'm kissing you because you looked so utterly irresistible when I woke up."

"Uh huh," I teased, still kissing him between words, "What do you want, Fischbach?"

Finally, he pulled away for a moment, specifically to give me the most sarcastic of looks. "Fischbach? Now hold on just a minute, you haven't called me that since we started dating. When did that start up again?"

I playfully hit him in the chest and laughed, "Quit stalling, Mark, just tell me what you wanted to ask!"

Mark sighed and leaned down, resting his forehead against mine. "Well," he mumbled nervously, "I was thinking, since you stay over here a lot, and you don't mind sharing a bed with me...why not...move in with me?"

I froze, shocked at the sudden offer. Mark continued to stare at me, unmoving, waiting for his answer. Finally, I smiled. "...Are you...are you sure you're ready for that?" I asked.

Mark smiled, lifting his head to focus better on my eyes. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I want to spent every moment of my life with you. I want to wake up like this every day, and make you breakfast every morning. I want to finish recording and come out of my office to see you just outside the door. I want to relax with you every night, and I want to fall asleep with you in my arms. So...will you?"

"Mark," I sighed, sitting up to kiss him quickly. "I'm as ready as you are."
