Being a single mother was hard, very hard. Having a five year old depends on you for everything was tiring. But regardless, being a mother was just amazing. "Come on, we're going to the park." Hanni signed to the little one who finished eating her breakfast.Leeseo is deaf as mentioned, and it's been a rough five years. Hanni had to learn sign language from and she still struggles a bit and thank the lord that Sunghoon gives Hanni money for Leeseo. At least he's a wallet for Hanni when it comes to Leeseo.
Even though all she wanted was for him to come back home and act like the fucking father he promised to be, and not the one that Hanni found out two years later after Leeseo's birth that had a second family that he hid from her years prior to her even being pregnant.
It was a real shame, a real fucking shame.
"Really?" The little one asked with excitement. Hanni could only smile as she nodded, reaching for her daughter's cheeks. Pinching them playfully. The little one let out a giggle as she tried to tickle Hanni but her little arms not letting her do such action.
Everyday that passed was a daily reminder that Hanni was abandon by the man she chose, by the man she trusted would never hurt her. It was bitter, but it was definitely karma and she knew it. She wanted to rip her hair out because of it. She felt so played. She felt like a fucking fool.
She gave up on the two people that loved her unconditionally, and there was nothing she could ever do to fix their broken hearts. Or to ever get them to want her in their life's anymore. It's clear that they're better off without her.
Hanni looked down at her daughter with only regret, if she would've known that Sunghoon had built a whole family behind her back all these years, she would've never stayed with him, she could've had her happily ever after, with Minji and Hyein.
Regardless of everything, she loves Leeseo and would do anything for her. She is her daughter and she'd never let her go. Kind of hypocritical of her, don't you think?
And she would've done the exact same for Hyein, who she saw yesterday. All grown up in to a beautiful young adult. Minji has done a good job. An amazing one at that. Then there was Minji who doesn't seem to age a damn year. They look so beautiful and happy, there's a twinge in Hanni's heart and it'll never go away.
No matter how much she forces herself to forget it all. Minji and Hyein have been present in her mind over the years. The more she tried, the more they were in her head and heart. Her mistakes consuming her whole. She was stupid, selfish, and just cruel for what she did to them.
She can't even forgive herself for hurting them the way she did. She loves her single mother life with regret. And she never tried to find anyone, she just couldn't do such thing. Not after realizing that she's probably meant to be alone for the rest of her life.
She felt a tug on her arm and saw Leeseo giving her a big smile. "Let's go to the park, I'm all ready." She signed and Hanni gave her back a smile as she picked her up from her chair.
Forgetting the complete fact that life has a roller coaster ride ready for her. And she wasn't ready to get on. Life has now brought them close to each other once more.
Across the hallway from her apartment, the two people she's missed the most were having their usual morning banter.
It was truly never ending.
"You're going out to run with me, and that's the end of this discussion." Minji said as she grabbed her daughter's collar and started to drag her out the house. "I don't want to! I'm too pretty for this!" Hyein argued and Minji held back her laugh.
