A basic ghost can either be visible or invisible. The stronger they are, the easier it is for them to manifest into a visible spirit.
Spirits can be held off by a salt line, or pure iron. These will not hold off a ghost forever, only temporarily until they gain enough strength to manifest again.
Spirits could remain on the earth for a few reasons. They could have unfinished business, or they just chose to not move on when they died.
Angry spirits are born of a violent death.
Signs of spirits could include the following: unusual deaths, strange voices or noises, and sightings of the deceased.
How to destroy: Salt and burn the bones of the deceased.
