A Wendigo is a creature that was human at one time but transformed when the person started practicing cannibalism.

Wendigo is an Indian word that means "evil that devours". Cultures all over the world believe that the eating of human flesh gives a person certain abilities like strength and immortality.

How to identify a Wendigo: Moves too fast to see, stealthy. Makes a growling noise. Able to perform human like tasks, such as unlocking doors. Excessive strength and speed. Massive claws. Leaves prey alive in caves for days on end and gradually feeds on them. Mimics human voices. Immortal.

A Wendigo is a good hunter during the day, but an unbelievable hunter at night.

Anasazi symbols keep them from passing over the land marked with the symbol. Silver also can harm the Wendigo, but will not kill it.

How to destroy: Fire. Burn it to death.
