to the boy i may never know

i saw you on the street today

and i couldn't help but notice your eyes

green

but i didn't know you

or your name

i didn't know your favourite colour

or what makes you cry

but i thought i saw a glimpse of our future

the way i called your name 

and the way we painted half of our house 

blue 

because it was your favourite colour

and we painted the other half

lavender 

because it is mine.

i saw you cry when you thought were alone 

grey

and i thought i saw love. 

red

but that cant be true

because i saw you today

and i thought i saw your eyes

but now you're gone

and i cant be so sure

whether you were ever there 

at all.
