As I reached home, my mother saw me and looked very happy. She hugged me tightly and asked, "kaha the itne dino se ? Or esi konsi deal thi jo khatam hone ke naam hi nhi le rhi thi?"

(Where had you been all these days? What was this deal that wouldn't end?")

I tried to answer nervously, but Vedant Bhai interrupted me. "Maa, aapko nhi pta ki aapka beta kitni mehnat krke aaya h  Russian and Thai clients ke saath, haina Ekansh! ," he said sarcastically, raising an eyebrow at me.

(Maa, you don't know how hard your son worked to get our Russian and Thai clients on board,")

I tried to make an excuse, "Maa, I'm really tired, I'll go to my room." But just then, my sister-in-law's voice came from behind. "Let's go, Vedant."

I asked her, "Where are you going, bhabhi?"

She was surprised at my question. "Don't you know, devar ji, that today is my brother Siddhant's engagement?"

I muttered under my breath, "uss chutiye ko kisne apni ladki dedi?"

(Who would give their daughter to that idiot?")

Bhabhi looked at me confused, and Vedant Bhai covered his laughter by coughing. I asked her, "Who is the girl, your brother is getting engaged to?"

"Ruhanika," she replied with a smile. My heart skipped a beat. "Sorry, what did you say?" I asked her again.

"Ruhanika," she repeated. "She's so beautiful, devar ji. I thought you should also find a girl like her." But my mind stopped working. I silently moved to my chamber, thinking, "No, no, it can't be her. It's not possible."

I tried to convince myself that there couldn't be another Ruhanika in the world. I urgently opened my laptop and checked the live footage of her room, but she wasn't there. "Fuck! Where is she?"

*************

I got ready for the engagement because my mother forced me, and I also wanted to go to check who Ruhanika was. As I stepped out of my room, I saw Mihir and my mother waiting for me. "Where were you?" my mother asked.

"Bhai, aaj to ek dum zeher lg rhe ho," Mihir said with a teasing smile.

" To chaat ke marja phir," I replied irritably.

"Ekansh!" my mother scolded me, her eyes wide with disapproval.

Ekansh outfit

***********

We reached the Kapoor mansion, and my heart was racing like a drum. "Ekansh, are you okay?" my mother asked, concern etched on her face.

"Yes, Maa, I'm fine. You go ahead, I'll join you later," I said, trying to sound calm.

"Mihir, take Maa inside," I ordered, parking my car and getting out.

Just then, my phone rang. The caller ID showed "Sar Dard". I picked up the call. "Yes, Maan?"

"Ekansh, I've sent you a file that's with Rudra. Check it, it's important," Maan said in his serious tone.

"Okay," I replied, cutting the call.

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. Where is Ruhanika, and why did Maan want me to check that file? My mind was racing with questions, but I knew I had to keep my cool and play along.

As I entered the mansion, I saw a sea of faces, but my eyes were searching for one person - Ruhanika.

I went inside and saw Mihir, asking him where everyone was. He pointed to the stage, and I turned my gaze in that direction. But when I saw the stage, my heart sank. It was surrounded by people, and I quickly made my way towards it.

"Lo Ekansh bhi aagya," my mother said, her voice dripping with excitement.

But my eyes were fixed on Ruhanika, and I felt like I had been stabbed with a thousand knives. My mind stopped working, and I thought it was a dream, but it was reality. My Ruhanika was marrying another man.

My blood boiled, and I didn't know what was happening. My mother said, "Ekansh, come and congratulate Siddhant on finding such a beautiful wife."

I extended my hand for a handshake and gave Siddhant a tight smile. "Congratulations," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

Then I turned to Ruhanika, her eyes wide and her mouth open in shock. I grabbed her hand for a handshake, and I could feel her body react to my touch. Her body shivered, and I loved every moment of it.

I said "congratulations" and then let go of her hand, moving towards the bar section.

"I won't let this happen," I muttered to myself, taking a drink to calm my nerves.

As the engagement ceremony began, I couldn't take my eyes off Ruhanika. She didn't look happy with Siddhant, and I knew she wasn't. My devilish mind whispered to me, "She's only happy with you, Ekansh."

As the engagement party came to a close, the guests began to disperse, and I noticed Ruhanika slipping away to her room, alone. My heart raced with anticipation, and I saw my chance. I waited until she opened the door, and then I swiftly grabbed her by the waist from behind, my right hand holding her tight. I could hear her gasp in surprise, and with my left hand, I quickly locked the room door behind us.

I pulled her close, my chest against her back, and whispered in her ear, "We need to talk, Ruhanika." Her body tensed, and I could feel her heart racing. I slowly turned her around to face me, my eyes locked on hers. They were wide with fear, but also a hint of something else... something that gave me hope.

I pushed her gently onto the bed, my hands still holding her waist. She looked up at me, her eyes searching mine. "Ekansh, what are you doing?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

I took a step closer, my face inches from hers. "I'm not going to let you marry him, Ruhanika. I can't let you go." My voice was low and husky, my eyes burning with intensity.

Ruhanika's eyes flashed with defiance, but I could see the fear lingering beneath. "You can't stop me, Ekansh. I've made up my mind." Her voice was firm, but I could hear the doubt creeping in.

I smiled, my eyes never leaving hers. "Oh, but I can, Ruhanika. And I will." I leaned in closer, my lips almost touching hers. "You're mine, Ruhanika. And I'll do whatever it takes to keep you."

Oh really! "And who are you to stop me?" Her expression suddenly changed, and I was surprised to see her brave mood. "I'm not your toy, to be picked up and discarded whenever you want," she said.

"You can't stop me from marrying Siddhant. I declare, I'll marry whoever I want. It's my decision, and none of your business."

She pushed me back and said, "What's bothering you, anyway?" But I grabbed her waist again and pulled her into me, our noses touching. "Because you're mine," I said.

"I'm not your fucking property, Mr. Rathore," she said loudly. "Stop interfering in my life!"

I could see the desperation in her eyes, and I knew she was willing to do anything to get away from me. "Okay, fine," I said.

"Get married then. I won't disturb you. Congratulations once again... on your destruction."

Our faces were inches apart, our breathing heavy, and our hearts racing. The tension between us was palpable, and I knew this was far from over.
