"Absorbing these crystals might prove to be quite dangerous if you do not follow my instructions, so listen carefully to what I'm about to say.", Miss Isla said. "It is not possible even for expert mages to completely absorb the essence stored inside these Azurites.", she continued. "At most, you guys can absorb fifty percent of the Azure. While absorbing Azure regardless of the source, focus is the most essential element. Even a slight disturbance in focus can result in a tragedy. In conclusion, this must be done in a place where no one can break your focus."

"Place your attention on the Azurites, and begin by drawing a line between them and your heart. Then, the entirety of your conscience must realize the connection between your physical body and the Azurites.", she explained. "Slowly begin channeling the Azure from the crystals towards your heart through the imaginary pathway you made."

"Once the connection between you and the Azurites is broken, they will be destroyed, because the Azurites are sensitive to changes in their energy. Due to this, there are no second chances. If you stray for even a moment, the connection between you and the crystal will be broken, you'll be left with however much you managed to absorb, and the Azurites will be destroyed."

"When it starts to feel hard to maintain the connection, let go. Do NOT force it, as trying to go beyond the point of saturation can hurt your heart."

As I sat there in the calm and quiet forest, under the tree, I closed my eyes.

"Arlo.", the voice said, alarming me. "Go on, and I shall guide you.", the voice continued. "Alright.", I replied.

I started focusing on surface of my palm -- or specifically the part which felt the embrace of the Azurites. From the surface, I started making a pathway for the Azure towards my heart. About an hour later, I felt a line from each of my palms, towards the heart. I could see that I was ready to channel the Azure, and show it the way. Since my eyes were closed, I could see nothing but the two Azure pathways, emitting hazy white light.

Then, I started drawing the Azure from the crystals through the pathways. Since the time I started, I stopped feeling any external stimuli whatsoever. No thoughts whatsoever. Total mental emptiness, to the point where even a slight breeze would startle me. This was the magnitude of focus I had to upkeep for, perhaps, several more hours. Then, about two hours later, I felt like I had reached the point of saturation which Miss Isla. had spoken of. The Azurites seemed to have gotten ever so slightly smaller. I was about to break off the pathways and interrupt the flow of Azure, when the voice spoke.

"Arlo.", It said in a echoey voice which didn't feel 'physical'. "Take notice of what I say, act upon it. You must go deeper now, from being conscious to a state of trance. You must stop being 'aware'.", the voice told me. "But first, you must protect your heart, using the Azure you have already absorbed."

Suddenly, I felt a erratic jolt. "Perform the Azure Heart.", the voice said, and surprisingly, I knew what it was? That startled me, and before I could break focus to speak, the voice reassured me, "I'll explain, but maintain your trance, do not stray."

The voice had somehow conveyed to my mind directly, the basics of protecting one's heart using Azure. There was the Azure Shield, which was a technique used to protect the heart from light external blows inflicted when engaging in low level combat, and then there was the Azure Heart, which was done by completely submerging the heart in Azure, which not only protected the heart from attacks of strength, but also from attacks involving the use of magic, or Azure, itself. Upon further development of this technique, it can also go as far as granting a second chance to a person, though, that can only be achieved after a lot of drudgery. Slowly, I was starting to grasp why the Azure Heart was needed for me, in this scenario.

As Miss. Isla had explained, going beyond the saturation threshold could directly damage my heart -- but what if, my heart was protected by the Azure I had absorbed earlier? Could the growth in the amount of Azure still harm my heart? "Well, I wouldn't know until I try...", I thought to myself.

As I started forming a barrier of Azure around my heart...
