Chapter 25, Just For Business
Just For Business
"Oh yeah that was nothing"
Your heart sunk immediately. Your breathing paused for a hot second as lump formed in your throat.
Nothing? What did he mean by nothing?
"Wait... what..?" You let out a soft scoff of disbelief as you tried processing his blunt words.
"Yeah nothing. It's Just For Business" His words were straight forward and emotionless.
You were in complete astonishment and felt your breath get heavy as weren't able to take in what he had just said.
"What do you mean it was just for business?" Your eyes furrowed in annoyance at how nonchalant he was being about the whole incident.
"You know. Like just for the contract." Jungwon clarified as if that was supposed to make you feel any better.
"So it was just for the contract? There was no feelings behind it?" You questioned getting more and more pissed at him for the first time ever.
"Yeah of course. Why are you getting mad?" He asked as if it wasn't obvious.
Was he seriously just brushing off my feelings?
"Are you-" You were about to lash out at him when you both pulled up at the event seeing all the professional CEO's entering with their partners. Dressed up in suits and elegant dresses.
You were wearing a simple maroon silk dress which made your young figure stand out but that was the last thing you could care right now.
"We're getting late. let's go" Jungwon didn't even wait for your answer and he got out the car fixing his suit buttons as you completely let stunned and angry.
You didn't know if you wanted to burst into tears for just yell out your feelings for him.
You sat in the car just replaying his words over and over again.
You gripped your thigh in frustration scrunching up your perfectly flowy dress. You flinched slightly when you heard a knock on your window as you snapped your head up to see Jungwon gesturing for your to come out.
He still had that innocent, straight expression on his face which was just angering you more but you had to contain your feelings.
You got out the car as he began walking in front of you like he had no concern for you or anything.
You entered the venue packed with other people. You remembered your fathers words of making good connections and a good impressed but you were too hurt to even function properly.
You watched as Jungwon greeted a group of men and bowing to them and happily smiling like nothing just went wrong.
Meanwhile you were trying to compose yourself. but his words just kept ringing in your head. What a way to break a heart cute guy.
You felt your breath get heavy as your chest tightend as you placed a hand on your chest bracing against the wall. Trying to gather yourself but his words were like a dagger to your heart.
Why was this so painful? The guy that you thought had the same feelings for you had just bluntly dismissed how you felt, not even being the slightest bit concerned.
You could feel tears brewing in the rims of your eyes. Threatening to fall down your cheeks.
You clutched your chest as you were holding yourself back from bursting into sobs then and there. You had already recieved a few looks from the guests as they gave you glances and whispering to each other.
Suddenly Jungwon approached with softened eyes. "Hey are you ok?" His hand hesitated to touch you for comfort as you worriedly scanned your distressed features.
Oh now he was concerned? You looked up at him. A tear managing to escape your eye onto your pink plumb cheek as Jungwon's presence just seemed to stir the anger in you more.
"I'm leaving." You took a sharp inhale before turned around the wall corner and heading out.
"Hey wait!" Jungwon called out to you but was comtemplating whether to run after you.
While you had broke into tears. Droplets streaming down your face as you rushed outside calling for a taxi.
You managed to catch a ride as you drove home in tears. You tried wiping them away but more just kept streaming down. You had never been hurt this bad before.
