Another day of school was again over, however not once did I ever even seen Ryan once today.
Well except that single slight flash by the corner of my eyes when Noah pulled me aggressively.
Although after that, he was as if invisible to me. I couldn't find him anywhere and it just so happened that I didn't have any class with him after that.
I was eager to see him, I wanted to atleast see him once rather than going to bed tonight thinking all the negative stuffs Ryan must've felt or thought. So when the last bell rang, I texted Jas and Belle, letting them know that I was going to The Pungent Smell right away after school. I had no class in the last period with either both of them, so I had to let them know.
Normally, we would wait together in school for our parents if we didn't have any plans to go anywhere after. Well, actually wait for Belle's parents to pick her up because Belle is such a baby. Jas goes home with her brother, while I as of course, walk back home.
I didn't mind waiting on them, I like to think myself as a good company. It's not like I'm in such a rush anyway.
So I started walking to The Pungent Smell as it wasn't that far. By foot, it usually took me about 10 to at least no more than 15 minutes to get there, minus any distractions. Infact, it's close enough that most of the kids always go there and about half of the employees are the seniors from our own school.
As I walked, I couldn't help but to think about Noah and his very weird wish along with his even weirder condition.
Jerk Noah, always ordering me around to get what he wants, treating me like a living puppet.
I'll be happy enough to see him fail Biology, it's not my grades that's failing. Practically, he's been no way near nice to me, why should I be even the slightest with him? He's a bully, maybe I should let him taste his own medicine. Let him feel the pain. Yea, perhaps that's fair. But then I thought again, nope.
Noah St. Van has way too much ego to sink himself in pain. This is a St. Van we're talking about anyway, they all have large egos. There's no way he'll just wallow and whimper and not get back on his feet the second he fails. Best case scene is probably he drowns me in another slushie for lying and tricking him.
I wouldn't want to know what the worst case scene is.
As I walked and strode along the pavements, with thoughts swimming around in my head, I found myself steps away from arriving by the entrance of The Pungent Smell.
I speed up, hurrying. When I reached the front door, I immediately took the handle by my hand and pull it with my might. The bells above the door jingled softly as I pulled it. The place was semi-crowded. Some students were already there, probably had a free period too.
My eyes went straight to the counter where I would usually find Ryan there, making teas and coffees for customers. However, not today. Instead, a lady was behind the counter, currently serving the customers, busy working.
I looked around but still saw no sign of him. Although, I had spotted Meg, a friend of Ryan who worked as a server there.
"Meg!" I called out. When she didn't hear me, I repeated with my hands cupped around my mouth. "Meg!"
Instinctly, she looked up as she wiping a table. "Hey!" She mimed, waving a hand to me.
Smiling, I forwarded myself to her.
"Hey, came for a some shakes?" She warmly greeted me, grinning with her hands by her hips where a black apron was also tied to.
I cleared my throat, my eyes still scanning the place. "Not today, Meg. I'm looking for Ryan. Is he here yet?"
