AN: I DO NOT OWN KIMETSU NO YAIBA AND NARUTO EXCEPT FOR MY OC!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The sound of splashing water could be heard by the river as the red-haired girl pulled up a pail full of water before doing the same to the second one.
A month has passed since the Kamado Family took Nanami in. Though she was a stranger with no family to go back to, they treated her with much hospitality and kindness. In their view, she was just a girl who lost her family, which isn't that far-fetched to her situation.
Once the two wooden buckets are filled with water, she easily pulls them up and walks back up the mountain. Tanjuro and Tanjiro are currently out of the house, leaving Kie and Nezuko to care for the house and look after the younger ones.
The first couple of weeks of her stay were difficult, to say the least. She would wake up in the middle of the night thinking she was on the battlefield when in reality she's just in the Kamado household with the family sleeping blissfully. During those nights, the red-haired girl would often feel Kurama's chakra as if it were to assure her that the war was over, even though he denies doing such things. Sometimes, she woke up screaming from her dreams and ended up waking the family.
Thankfully, Tanjuro and Kie are patient with her during those nights, assuring her gently that it was just a dream. Neither of the family divulged about what happened and she was thankful they didn't, otherwise, she wouldn't know how to explain to them how she came from a world where a great war had ended, much less her identity as a shinobi and how she died once.
Slowly but surely, Nanami has adjusted her life with the Kamado Family thanks to their patience. Still, she felt bad for waking them up in the middle of the night when she had those dreams from the war.
Now, she's helping them with chores around the house in exchange for their generosity and kindness.
Soon, she arrived at the house with the two pails of water in hand and opened the sliding door.
"I'm back!" Nanami announced.
Kie turned her head to see the red-haired girl by the doorway and smiled in greeting. "Welcome back, Nanami-san."
"Nami-nee-san!" The three youngest children also greeted her as Rokuta have his hands open and a big smile on his face. Nanami put the two pails of water down before giving Rokuta a hug as the youngest of the Kamado laughed when she rubbed her cheeks with his chubby ones.
"Aren't you just the cutest little one, huh, Rokuta?" Nanami cooed affectionately.
"Eh? I wanna get a hug too!"
"Me too!"
"Then I'll give all three of you a big fat hug, dattebane!" The children laughed as Nanami pulled them in and affectionately rubbed their cheeks.
Kie giggled at the sight. The children absolutely adored the red-haired girl, regaling them with stories and taking care of them. She can tell that Nanami dotes on the children just as much as they adore her. Perhaps that's why she felt more at ease leaving Nanami with them while she or Nezuko were occupied.
As soon as Nanami released the children, she brought the pails of water to the kind woman. "Ah, Kie-san, here's the water you asked for." Nanami said.
"Thank you, Nanami-san. You've been a great help." Kie thanked her in gratitude.
"Nah, it's nothing." Nanami then looks around to find Nezuko and Takeo are not back yet. Nezuko left to get vegetables while Takeo is chopping wood somewhere. She then felt Hanako and Shigeru tugging her sleeve as she turned her gaze to meet their red ones.
