'I didn't think the world hated me... No one ever would think that.'

Blue and red light flash along the roadside. Small scatterings of a wreckage litter the asphalt. Pieces of metal reflecting the same flashing lights.

'Was my birth that much of an imbalance? That life would do its best to be rid of me.'

Men and women in blue uniforms walk around pulling yellow tape around a vehicle, flipped on its roof. Smoking finally dying down as the charred metal let off a foul smell along with the scent of burnt flesh.

'And if life wanted me gone, why did it take them? They did nothing to deserve this.'

An ambulance stands stationary with two medics applying first aid to a young male. His gaze held forward, not blinking, unmoving as blood trickles down his face. The medics cleaning and addressing the wounds. They spoke, but he heard nothing but the ringing in his ears.

'Am I cursed?'

His eyes gazed forward to three mounds, two large one small. Covered in tarp. And yet he couldn't see their faces. Only the slight pink hair that spilled from under the fabric. He couldn't even cry. He couldn't feel.

A woman walked towards the officers who were taking the details about the crash. A couple surrounded the young male but they couldn't get him to speak. The woman, tall and imposing was brought to the tarps as they were pulled back. She brought her hand to her mouth and would slowly collapse to the ground as tears spilled down her face. Her eyes filled with rage. Slowly sadness overtook. Then panic. She looked around before her eyes landed on the young male.

She immediately stood and ran to him. The police tried to calm her however her lips moved shouting at them. He still couldn't hear them. His mind just buzzed as the woman pushed her way towards him. He knew her, he just couldn't think straight.

The minute she arrived to him she immediately wrapped her arms around him. She pulled him close her. He was weak, he couldn't lift his arms to hold her back. Her body shivered showing she was crying. His own tears left his eyes. He was crying, and yet he couldn't figure out why. He was a mess. He felt terrified. And at the same time hollow.

The woman pulled away cupping his cheek letting him see her crying face. He knew her. Her mother's best friend. One of them at least. It was Evelynn.

He found it strange, she was usually stern, had an air of power about her

He found it strange, she was usually stern, had an air of power about her. And yet here she was crying. Why was she crying? Was it because of him? Why was she here? What happened?

'Focus Y/N focus...'

He closed his eyes letting his tears flow. He looked to the bags now seeing the face of his mother, his father, and his sister. All their eyes hollow and lifeless, their bodies burned, blood staining the wreck and their bodies. His eyes slowly widened. They were dead. He slowly slid off the ambulance, being caught by Evelynn. The ringing filled his ears once more. This world became dizzy, swirling around him as a shrill scream echoed from his throat. It started soft before he could hear his own voice and full volume. He found his head pulled into Evelynn's chest as she held him close.
