Zac walked out of the police station and to his surprise Fatima was sitting down on the bench waiting for him. Fatima was the last person he thought would bail him out.
Zac: you bailed me out?
Fatima: Yes I did.
Zac: I thought Chase and Jordan was coming.
Fatima: They were, but I told them I would do it.
Zac: Oh. How much I owe you?
Fatima: Nothing. I called in a favor.
Zac: Thank you.
Fatima: Don't thank me yet. I only bailed you out because I didn't want Kennedy wondering where her daddy is in the morning.
Zac: Where is she?
Fatima: At my parent's house.
Zac: Ok. Fatima listen-
Fatima: No. you really fought my fiancée at a party that was supposed to be all about me. I was so stupid thinking we could go back to being best friends after so much time has passed. I guess I was wrong.
Zac: Once again I'm in trouble because of that nigga and you're mad at me?
Fatima: No Zac you're in trouble for the shit you did. You decided to put your hands on him.
Zac: Fatima the nigga was talking about adopting Kennedy.
Fatima: What?
Zac: Yeah. He said that because you and him were engaged, Kennedy might want y'all to adopt her to see what a real two parent house hold is.
Fatima: No. he wouldn't say no stupid shit like that. He said that he came out there to talk to you and you just hit him.
Zac: Fatima He's lying. I heard it with my own fucking ears. You think I would lie on my daughter?
Fatima: No.
Zac: Exactly. That nigga isn't right for you.
Fatima: Zac what he said to you about Kennedy is fucked up and I will deal with him when I see him.
Zac: That's not enough for me. You need to let that nigga go. If he can lie to you about this, then what else could he be lying about?
Fatima: Zac.
Zac: I don't get it. What the fuck does this man have that's making you go blind? The Fatima I know would have been seen how weird he is and would have been left him. No the Fatima I know wouldn't have even dated the nigga because of what he did to me. Now you're about to marry him after only dating him for three months?
Fatima: I haven't just known him for four months. We were friends in college.
Zac: For one year and that was freshman year.
Fatima: I love him. He has shown me a different side of him these last three months.
Zac: You do not love him. Deep inside you know that you don't because he's not the man you're supposed to be with.
Fatima: Ok Zac. Since you got your degree in everything me. Who is the man I'm supposed to marry? Please tell me so I can go find him right now.
Zac went silent.
Fatima: Exactly. You don't know. Zac just go pick Kennedy up and go home.
Fatima turned to walk away.
Zac: I am.
Fatima: What? (Looks back at him)
Zac: (walks up to her) Fatima I love you. I'm in love with you. I believe that we were meant to be together because nobody knows me like you do and nobody knows you like I do.
