Fatima was in her office trying to work on the new cases she had, but she couldn't get everything Zac said a couple days ago out of her head. She's been dreaming of them being together for years just for him to say that the one night they shared was a mistake and they should just be friends. She felt extremely rejected. She spent all day at work wishing they didn't have sex because she was going to be carrying this memory with her for a while.
On her way to the break room, Ava turned her head to take a glance through Fatima's office window. From the looks of things, Fatima was zoned out. She had a pen in her hand with papers all over her desk, but eyes were spaced off. Ava knew something was up with her friend, so she poked her head inside as she opened the door.
Ava: Fatima.
Hearing her name being called brought Fatima out of her deep thought.
Fatima: Hm.
Ava: Is everything ok?
Ava walks inside forgetting to close the door behind her.
Fatima: Yeah. Why do you ask?
Ava: Because it looks like you're about to eat your pen.
Fatima quickly drops the pen on to the desk.
Ava: (sits down) What's going on?
Fatima: It's Zac and Travis.
Ava: Ugh.
Fatima: Really Ava.
Ava: I'm sorry. It's just this love triangle between the three of you has gone on for too long. You need to just pick one and let's all move on with our lives.
Fatima leans back in her seat.
Fatima: Well you don't have to worry about that because Zac dropped out of the triangle.
Ava: Are you serious?
Fatima: Yes and girl he told me off. He said that us having sex was a mistake.
Ava: YOU HAD SEX WITH ZAC!?!
Fatima ran to close her door.
Fatima: Can you keep your voice down?
Ava: I'm sorry. Yall had sex?
Fatima: Yes.
Ava: When?
Fatima: The night we kissed. He came back over to my house later to talk. One thing led to another and the next thing I know we're in my bed naked.
Ava: That was Sunday. You kept this from me for whole 4 days.
Fatima: I was trying to get my mind together. I had just told Travis that I needed a break from him and then Zac hits me with the we should just be friends speech.
Ava: He did not.
Fatima: He did. He said that we should take just focus on Kennedy and rebuilding our friendship.
Ava: Why would he say that?
Fatima: He said that our complicated situation was affecting Kennedy because when we took that break away from each other, Kennedy was basically collateral damage. She was really hurt by me disappearing. My heart broke hearing that. You know I love my peanut with my whole heart.
Ava: I know, but that doesn't take away from the fact that she was hurt. I completely understand Zac wanting to focus on Kennedy and her wellbeing. She's only four.
Fatima: I know.
Ava: Is that all he said?
Fatima: He also said that I need to start taking accountability.
