FOLLOWME.exe (An EXE Story)

[Follow Me.exe Chapter 1.]

This is a story told to me from a strange man I met in the park, who I swore had yellow eyes, but I can't really remember that well.

[July 4th, 1991.]

Sonic The Hedgehog had released, and all seemed well, but alas, such pristine peace cannot go untainted. One day, a child named 'Daniel' got Sonic The Hedgehog for his birthday that day. The Day he died, and something got out. At first, the game seemed normal. The cartridge slipped into the console, and the game booted.. sorta. Where there usually would be a "SEGA!!" yell, there was just a white screen, slowly fading to black,  with the "Sonic Team Presents" changed to "Sonic Presents" and the title screen appeared, but It was off, to say the least. The title screen had no background, and there was the normal Sonic The Hedgehog logo, but Sonic had.. fully Yellow eyes, and an.. unnatural smile. But Daniel, who hadn't actually seen the normal title screen, didn't know. He had only heard that Sonic was an amazing game from his best friend.

The game started without Daniel pressing Start, and Green Hill Zone loaded up, Sonic's Sprites shared the same unnerving smile and yellow eyes. The game played as normal, until a weirdly cheerful voice said to Daniel via the TV's speakers: "Hey Buddy! Ya having fun there!? Great! I do have a offer for you, but that's not here nor there... Play along till ya reach Marble Zone, and I'll tell ya the offer! You can trust me, I'm Sonic! Sonic The Hedgehog..."

Daniel, enticed by "Sonic" and his offer, cheerfully continued playing. But, there was a strange lack of Badniks, only Rings and Monitors. There was no Life Counter, nor a Timer. so, eventually, Daniel reached the third act, and passed it without a Bossfight against Robotnik.

And about halfway through Marble Zone Act 2, the game froze, simply saying "ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION$0000000FOLLOWME" and the screen glitched to black, with a Sonic sprite appearing in the dark, with that smirk and yellow eyes. "Hello buddy! It's high-time to talk about my little deal! It's really quite simple. Just follow my instructions, and you get to join me in my adventure to defeat Robotnik, no strings attached!" 

Daniel, a curious child, nodded, and "Sonic" replied. "Great! Come along now, dear child, listen carefully, follow my instructions exactly! Plunge a kitchen knife into your heart, and I'll show you how to come along with me, giving you the life to come and play with me, It brings me plenty of joy for you to come and join me."

And alas, the poor parents of young Daniel, aged only 7 walked in to find their baby boy stabbed and dead in front of the game, with Sonic simply wagging his finger on the title screen with those yellow eyes and smirk, the blood leaking on the floor in rich, dark red droves. "Sonic" started to taunt them.

"It's such a grand shame, now your boy is gone, and Sonic has claimed his prize, He has said Goodbye, and it's amazing how dull you are, my dear friends. Now, your dear son has lost his pain and strife, and happiness is all there will be for him in the end with Sonic, now that he has followed my way..!"

While the parents were losing their minds over losing their child to fucking Sonic The Hedgehog of all things, ''Sonic'' called the police, under a false name, claiming that a murder had occurred. The parents were arrested, as they didn't believe the game could cause it. However, they did take the game, and it's console as evidence.

They decided they would test the game later on, but that was pushed back to 1992. The next chapter will be what they found on that ga-
