Reminder: this story was inspired by the concept of Greek mythology used by Rick Riordan in his series of Percy Jackson and Heroes Of Olympus. This book is NOT a copy of Riordan's work, nor is it fanfiction. I am merely using the same concept, much like many other authors do.
Also, this book will also be published on Neobook under the user of Yarah Kane.

1183 BC. A year had passed since the end of the Trojan War. The people of Troy were humiliated whilst the Achaeans and Spartans were to live peacefully as allies. Odysseus (a man of skill and intellect) became a legendary king and hero: famous for his tactical plan of the trojan horse, his rescue of Helen (Queen of Sparta), and ultimately reigning as King of Ithaca. Greece has changed over the last 11 years for better or for worse.Amongst all of this lived a young couple, a farmer and his wife. Demetrius and Evangeline worked hard for their harvest, being known as the most successful farmers in Achaea. But after months of goodness and life, the kingdom had entered a dark age of history. The harvest was failing. Full of shame and sorrow, the farmer and his wife prayed to the Goddess Demeter, begging her for help in the hopes of being blessed with a new harvest. Bombarded by their calls, the Goddess answered. In only a matter of weeks there was a new harvest, and there was new life. It was good. It was good until it wasn't.
Evangeline and Demetrius never planned for children, in fact they hated children. Of course they never minded the help of the younger members from their farming village, but in truth they hated the thought of having their own children. However, it was only a matter of time before they bore a child, a daughter. If it were a boy they may have had a second thought, but a girl was useless to them. As a result, they cursed out Demeter for her interference, for burdening them with such a fruitless crown.
Dark, depressing, dismal: night had descended upon the town. Creeping carefully, Demetrius (with his wife's knowledge) climbed up the mountains surrounding their rather large village, drawing closer to the cliff edge, hovering over the water. With his infant in hand, he cursed Demeter for a final time before violently tossing the child into the ocean and returning home.
Rage. Demeter's rage was clear. She was punishing them for what they had done. Yard by yard, death had plagued the land in the form of an eternal winter. Crops would no longer grow, and lives would be taken. It was their fault. With the disappearance of their child, the villagers knew what the two had done. They knew that they had gotten rid of the girl, and they were going to make them pay for it.
Consumed by their anger, the villagers would march over to the couple's home. With pitchforks raised, they attacked. They ripped and teared, stabbed and throttled. Chunks of flesh decorated the walls, and the crushed skulls of Demetrius and Evangeline were spread evenly along the sanguine soaked carpet. It was over. The wrath of Demeter would be over. But there was one last thing to do.
A tribute to the innocent. The infant that was murdered in cold blood. Across the dry cold town, lanterns would light up the sky, showering her soul in the love her parents would never provide her. Praying, they wished her a safe passage to the afterlife, knowing that the infant would live on in memory.
And that would be it. That would be the end of the story.
