Pride Gem

When I went to the lake recently for a day trip, I really did find a polished river agate at a rock shop that looks as described. I've been carrying it around with me, even sleeping with it curled in my hand LOL.

Sara thumbed the smooth stone in her hand, a study guide and reference book propped up in front of her.

"You've been quite fond of that rock ever since you came home with it."

Sara looked up at Lucifer, then back down at her stone, and blushed. "W-well, it's helping me study."

"And what's so special about it?"

"I just think it's pretty. It's not whispering answers to me or anything." She continued to blush as Lucifer gently worked the worry stone from between her fingers to examine it.

"Ah, so that's how it is, hm?" The demon smirked triumphantly. He shifted with ease into his demon form, then held the stone up to his chest. The stone's unique cut and striations gave it a striking resemblance to the peacock feathers adorning his coat.

His human blushed as he chuckled softly. Lucifer's wings fluffed proudly as he pressed the gem back into her hand, closing her fingers over it and sealing with a kiss.

"You purchased it because it bore a resemblance to my outfit. How charming."

"W-well I...I, uh-"

Lucifer tilted her chin up and kissed her lips.

"Keep up the good work."

"Yes, sir!"
