Freedom (Katakuri X Reader)

I smiled as I held his hand, floating through the woods gently he walked beside me hand in hand. His eyes were soft, no cold glare, and no harsh comments. Just his beautiful magenta eyes watching me calmly. I thought he'd be sick of me asking to come to the seducing woods by now. He expressed to me that he understood my liking to them as I used to resonate in such an environment. He said one day he'd take me to see the forest on fishman Island to see how vast they are around the world.

The past few weeks have been better than any. He was gone to spend time with me, and he didn't seem mad or disinterested in the idea. He wanted to be there with me.

"After this, we can stop at the local bakery and get some treats if you'd like. As a thankyou, " I said with a sweet smile, katakuri hummed as he softly released my hand as my wings fluttered, lifting me further into the air, his eyes watched me closely. Observing my figure as I danced around the air.

"Did your family let you outside much?" He asked randomly, I glanced at him, landing beside him. I frowned for a moment. "No, not like this. I only ever left the castle grounds to make face. My family is very reserved. It's why they took longer than expected to marry me off. They would have never if it wasn't for the benefits. They're... against interracial marriage especially. They like to keep their bloodline pure, there's not many lords and ladies left now that haven't already joined the family. I wonder what they'll do when they no longer have suitable parties." I explained. Katakuri watched me as he heard my tone deplete as I talked.

Katakuri was curious, being a race recently introduced to Toto land there's alot more to learn, especially since his wife was one of them. "Do you feel free?" He asked, I turned to him and offered the sweetest smile he'd ever seen. He blushed, pulling up his scarf a little more in the awkward gaze. "I do, more than anything. I feel happy. I know I may be reserved to just Toto Land right now. But I never thought I'd ever see the sea or see a kingdom made sweets and treats. Or have hope and promises of seeing more of the world. I thought I'd be stuck staring at castle walls till I die, " I explained so happily. Katakuri pulled me into a warm hug.

"I'll have a word with Mama and see if I can take the next job on fishman Island. After whitebeard died, she claimed it as her territory offering protection in exchange for their candy. Just like your island. " he replied, my eyes sparkled.

"If I get the job, I'll take you with me." He added. I squeeked trying to keep in my excitement. I cuddled him and kissed his cheek above the scarf. "You'd really do that for me... im so, OOOOO, i wanna go so bad. Thank you, " I babbled out with a big smile, katakuri sighed. "Dont get ahead of yourself, we don't know if she'll even say yes," he complained, I pouted and cuddled him tighter. "I know, but the fact is you said you would if you could, that means a lot," I responded softly. His heart ached. He picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist, and held me as he walked. "Let's go to the bakery," he said. "Okay."

"Hey," I spoke as I sat down beside him and cuddled up. He hummed and pulled me close. I pouted as I tried to get my thoughts into words. "So... I have a question. " I spoke softly as I stroked his chest following his definition. He didn't day anything, just sat with his eyes closed.

"I wonder. Why, even now I've seen your face, you still hide from me during meals. " I spoke curiously. He sighed and held me. His hand ran through my hair as his eyes opened and peered at me. Taking my hand, he placed it on his jaw, "I look different when I eat," he explained. I hummed and stroked his jaw, gently touching his sharp teeth.

"You should know by now that I have no intention of changing my mind about you. I've already professed my feelings. I just... want you to trust me too, " I said, katakuri sighed and pulled me closer, resting soft kisses on my lips. "I do. But this is..." he tried to say, but I cut him off with a kiss. "You're weakness, that's okay. We all have at least one. I won't ask again, but it would be nice to dine with company sometime, " I said softly, cuddling up to him even more. He hummed.

"Be glad I let you stay in my bed now," he said, I smiled and squeezed him. "I thought it's a requirement as a married couple. If it's that much of a problem, I can go back to my own-"

"No," he spoke deeply, a blush decorating his cheeks. " I like having company," he added quietly. I smiled and holped onto his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck and embracing him softly. "I always look back on the wedding and wonder how different it could if been, I'm glad It was you. Other than our obvious height similarities, we're rather contrasting people, " I expressed sweetly, and I played with his hair. His eyes are watching me gently. "For a race of fairy people, you are surprisingly tall," he responded.

"We get that a lot,".

"So.... I think.. it's time for bed, " I spoke, yawning. Katakuri smiled shortly before scooping me up and standing. "Sounds good".
