"Vikas?" Shyla asked surprised. She thought he had left two hours ago to meet his new found friends for group studying.

"Hi!" He said approaching towards her, as he was trying to make out on who's bike she was going to sit. As he came closer, Shyla introduced both of them to each other,

"Vikas, meet my boyfriend Akash, and Akash meet my best friend, Vikas."

Both of them glared at each other and mumbled a decent 'hi'.

"Oh shoot!" Shyla exclaimed.

"What happened?" Akash asked her.

"I forgot my electronics book in the classroom. I'll be back in a jiffy!" She sped off after giving a side hug to Akash and a warm smile to Vikas.

The air between both the boys was so tensed that a pin could prick through it. Akash took a deep breath and continued,

"I know you went to Sanjana and filled her ears with poison about me. Shyla would have never done such a thing." He said in a disgusted tone.

Vikas folded his arms around his chest. He had become healthier and he looked no longer tired. Casually he replied, "Now, now, where did you hear such things? And why would I do that to Shyla. I only want to see her happy."

Akash chuckled. " I know exactly why you did it. You like Shyla. Forget like, you love her, and you can't stand her being with anyone else apart from you. So you went to Sanjana, the biggest loud mouth of our year, told her things about me as though you were telling on behalf of Shyla and spread the rumors. I should have known, it was you, because Shyla would never do such manipulative things."

Vikas laughed a bit too loudly. "Listen man, I would never do anything to hurt Shyla and besides if I see her cry again because of you, you'll be going to the Starbucks branch underground." He looked to his right and saw Shyla coming. "Now act as if we were brothers in a previous birth in front of her." He went and hugged Akash in a death grip as Shyla's footsteps came closer. They both made sure that Shyla saw the hug. Just as Vikas was letting go, Akash whispered threateningly in his ear, "Shyla is my girl. I will make sure that she remains my girl."

"So you guys all warmed up?" asked Shyla adjusting her bag.

"He's a good guy." Vikas said patting on Akash's shoulder, as an acknowledgement to his assertion.

"Shall we leave?" Akash asked looking at Shyla.

"Yeah, sure. I need to be home by 7:30pm. Let's go." Akash sat on his new Bajaj Pulsar, mind you it was the 1000cc one and was red in color and put on his fashionable helmet and passed a spare helmet to Shyla.

As soon as she got settled and waved a goodbye to Vikas, Akash sped away.
