Author's POV

Reva rushed behind him and stopped him,
"No no papa I'll keep your things in guest room, you go to balcony with mumma I'll join you there with snacks" she send her father there and entered the guest room with her luggage.

"My parents are here." She told Atharva.

Atharva straightened, his casual demeanor evaporating. "Your parents? Here? Now?"

"Yes, now! They can't know you're here. Now, hide!" She pushed him toward the hallway, glancing nervously towards the balcony.

"Where?" he hissed. "In my room. Just go!" Atharva didn't argue. He slipped into her bedroom.

She came outside arranged some snacks, and took the tray the the balcony. She sat and engaged in small conversation with her parents.

"You know your father is into Gardening nowadays" her mother said while having her tea.

"Ohh........ Gardening that's nice" she said while glancing towards her room from time to time, nervous what if she gets caught.

"What happen Sweetie you seem distracted" Her mother said now her full attention was on Reva.

"N-No I'm alright I'll just get my phone from the room then I'll prepare the dinner for you both" she said and hurriedly went towards her room without waiting for reply.

Her parents sat there in confusion,
"What is she saying, she doesn't even know to cook anything apart from breakfast, what will she cook, is she alright?" Her father said while staring at her retrieving figure.

"What can I say she is your daughter afterall" Her mother said jokingly.

"They're staying the night," Reva whispered urgently, as she entered the room.

Atharva's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Looks like we're roommates."
"You're not staying in my room!" she hissed.

"Do you have a better idea? Because if they find me here, it's going to raise a lot of questions."

Reva groaned, rubbing her temples.
Atharva smirked. "Also, I was thinking you should sleep on the couch."

Reva glared at him. "In your dreams. This is my apartment, and my bed."

"Exactly," he retorted. "Your apartment means you should be a good host and offer me the bed. And also it's because of you I'm ill"

"You've got to be kidding me," Reva snapped. "Why don't you take the couch? You're the uninvited guest here."

Atharva leaned back, crossing his arms with a smug look. "I guess we could share the bed."

"Absolutely not," Reva said, her voice firm. "We're not sharing the bed."

"Fine," he said with a dramatic sigh. "But if your parents find me on the couch, don't blame me for what they think."

Reva's eyes narrowed. "You are impossible."

"And yet, here we are," he said, raising an eyebrow.

Later that night, after awkwardly tucking her parents into the guest room, Reva returned to her bedroom, finding Atharva already settled on one side of the bed, flipping through his phone. She changed into her pajamas in the bathroom, trying to ignore the ridiculousness of the situation.

When she finally slipped into bed, she kept as much distance between them as possible. The silence stretched, filled only by the faint sounds of the city outside.

"You know," Atharva's voice broke the quiet, "this isn't exactly how I imagined spending the night."

"Trust me, it's not my idea of a fun evening either," Reva retorted, staring at the ceiling.
