Author's POV

Reva stood in front of her bedroom mirror, adjusting the pleats of her exquisite off-white saree that is both elegant and captivating. The saree features intricate floral embroidery in delicate gold and silver threads, adding a touch of sophistication and luxury. The fabric is lightweight and sheer, allowing for a graceful drape that accentuates her figure beautifully. The saree is paired with a matching blouse that has a deep neckline and thin straps, complementing the overall look with a modern touch. Reva's long, dark hair cascades in loose waves over one shoulder, enhancing her graceful appearance.

Beside her, Shyra was fastening the clasp of her midnight blue dress, a chic and stylish number that accentuated her slender figure. Her makeup was subtle, her hair styled in soft curls, but tonight, there was a nervous energy about her.

Reva glanced at her friend and noticed the tension in her eyes. "Why so serious, Shyra? It's just a party." Shyra looked up, trying to muster a smile. "It's not just any party, Reva. Atharva's housewarming is going to be filled with his business associates, and there's a good chance Karan will be there. Not to mention, my parents are invited too."

Reva's heart ached for her friend. She knew how much Shyra had gone through with her parents and Karan. "You look amazing, Shyra. If Karan sees you, he'll be dead on the spot." Shaira managed a genuine laugh.

"Thanks, Reva. But you might be the one causing casualties tonight. That saree is a killer. Are you trying to slay someone with your beauty?" Reva grinned, a playful glint in her eye. "Maybe. Who knows? But seriously, Shyra, why do you look so sad? What's going on?"

Shyra sighed, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "It's just... seeing Karan again after all these years, and with my parents there... I'm scared, Reva. Papa always disapprove of my choices, especially the bakery. I can already hear him criticizing me."

Reva sat down beside her, taking Shyra's hand. "You're amazing, Shyra. Your bakery is fantastic, and Karan still cares about you. Don't let your parents' negativity get to you."

Shyra nodded, taking a deep breath. "You're right. Let's just get through tonight, okay?"

Reva squeezed her hand. "Together."

The grand entrance of Atharva's mansion was even more impressive than Reva had imagined. As they stepped inside, they were greeted by the warm glow of chandeliers and the hum of conversation. The room was filled with Atharva's business associates, each more polished and influential than the last.

As Reva and Shyra made there way to the main hall, they mingled with many familiar faces of the buisness world.

Suddenly Shyra tugged her arm. "There's Karan," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. Reva followed Shyra's gaze to see Karan standing near the bar, looking as handsome as ever in a navy blue suit. His eyes lit up when he saw Shyra, and Reva could feel the tension between them even from across the room.

Karan made his way towards them, he greeted Reva then he turned towards Shyra.

"Shyra," Karan said, his voice a mix of surprise and affection. "You look... stunning." Shyra smiled, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks. "Thank you, Karan. You look good too."

Before they could say more, Shyra's father appeared, his expression disapproving. "Shyra, what a surprise to see you here. Shouldn't you be at your little bakery?"
