2 Years Later...
It was a sunny Friday morning in Los Angeles, California. Nayeon woke up from her bed and started to go on her phone checking her social media. She wanted to call Momo & Sana, but then she thought that they were probably busy watching k-dramas or just singing in their living in the middle of the night like they used to do.
She didn't want to disturb them.
The bedroom door suddenly creaked open, and she turned her head to see Jimin entering with a tray in his hands, a smile lighting up his face.
"Good morning, my love," he said softly, setting the tray down on the bedside table. The tray was laden with her favorite breakfast items: fluffy pancakes drizzled with syrup, a side of fresh fruit, and a steaming cup of coffee.
Nayeon's eyes widened in delight. "Jimin, you didn't have to do all this," she said, though her heart swelled with happiness.
Jimin chuckled, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "Of course, I did. It's our three year anniversary. I wanted to make it special."
Nayeon sat up. "Thank you," she said, kissing each other deeply on the lips. She took a bite of the pancakes, savoring the sweet taste. "This is delicious."
"I'm glad you like it," Jimin replied, watching her with adoration. "And I have more plans for us today. How about we go out for dinner tonight? Just the two of us."
Nayeon smiled, her eyes meeting his. "I'd love that," she agreed. "It's been a while since we've had a proper date night."
Jimin leaned in and kissed her gently on the forehead. "Then it's a date. Happy anniversary, Nayeon."
Nayeon felt a rush of emotion as she looked at him, her heart full. "Happy anniversary, Jimin." He then left the room and let her continue to eat her breakfast in bed before she gets to work.
Until she got a message..
Minutes Later...
As Nayeon hurried through the bustling streets, her mind was filled with a mix of excitement. With her phone clutched in her hand, she replayed Sana's message in her mind, her heart skipping a beat each time she read it.
She glanced at her phone again, re-reading Sana's invitation.
"Sana's getting married," she murmured to herself, a wide smile spreading across her face. She had known Sana for years, through thick and thin, and to be invited to her wedding meant the world to her.
The thought of returning to Korea, even for a short visit, filled Nayeon with a rush of nostalgia. It had been a while since she'd last been home, but this occasion was special. Sana, her dear friend, was about to embark on a new chapter of her life, and Nayeon wanted to be there, to share in her joy and celebrate this milestone together.
Once she had entered the building and settling into her desk, Nayeon took a moment to compose herself before diving into her morning tasks. She opened her email to find a flood of messages awaiting her attention, but her focus kept drifting back to Sana's message. Each time she glanced at the calendar on her computer screen, counting down the days until her flight, a surge of excitement bubbled up inside her.
She tapped out a quick reply to Sana, expressing her joy and confirming her attendance. This trip would be more than just attending a wedding, it would be a reunion with friends, Momo, the jokbal lover and Jihyo, the loud mouth.
But then, another thought crept in, dampening her excitement. Jeongyeon. She would undoubtedly be at the wedding too because she is close friends with Tzuyu. The last time they saw each other had been painful, to say the least. The hurt in Jeongyeon's eyes, the betrayal... it all came rushing back.
Nayeon tried to move on and forget about her. But. She just couldn't.
Nayeon took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. She knew this moment would come eventually, and maybe, just maybe, it was time to face it. To face her first love. Jeongyeon.
"Alright, Korea, here I come," she whispered to herself, determination mixing with the anxiety swirling in her chest.
Time Skip...
It's now the evening here in California, and as the couple savored their anniversary dinner, Nayeon couldn't hold back her excitement any longer. "Jimin, guess what?" she said.
Jimin looked up from his plate, curious. "What is it?"
"We got invited to Sana's wedding!" Nayeon exclaimed, her smile widening.
Jimin's face lit up with genuine happiness. "That's fantastic news, Nayeon! I'm really looking forward to it."
Nayeon's expression fell slightly as she added, "But... Jeongyeon might be there too."
Jimin's brows furrowed in concern. He obviously knows the history between Nayeon and Jeongyeon, but he also knows that one day, they will have to meet face to face again. "Are you okay with that?" he asked gently.
Nayeon nodded. "I think so. It's been a while since you know... What happened."
"You know I'll be there with you," Jimin reassured her, reaching across the table to gently squeeze her hand. "And whatever you decide, I've got your back."
Nayeon managed a grateful smile. "Thanks, Jimin. I appreciate it."
