The morning sun peeked through the curtains as Jungkook rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. It had been four blissful days since he and Yn came to the countryside for a little holiday, a much-needed break from their hectic lives. He had anticipated waking up early to enjoy the quiet stillness of the house, perhaps sipping coffee alone on the porch. However, as he trudged down the stairs, he was met with the golden glow of the kitchen filled with the soft chatter of his family.
To his surprise, everyone was already gathered: his parents, Yn's parents, and of course, Yn herself, who sat at the table with a steaming cup in her hands. She looked up and smiled, her eyes lighting up the room. Jungkook felt a flutter in his chest—a mix of warmth and embarrassment for interrupting their morning gathering.
“I thought I was the first to get up,” he muttered, a shy grin spreading across his face as he joined them at the table.
His mother looked at him with feigned disapproval. “You need to learn to sleep in, Jungkook. It’s a holiday!”
He shrugged, pouring himself a cup of coffee, letting the familiar scent ground him. “Mom, I have to go today. There’s so much work at the office.”
He glanced at Yn, who mirrored his look of mild concern. She would be leaving, too, for her own obligations.
“Oh, but it would have been better if you and Yn could stay with us for more time,” his mom said wistfully, stirring sugar into her cup.
“Yn is also going?” he asked, hoping to receive a different answer.
“Yes, she took some work,” came the reply, this time from Yn's mother, who sat across from them, her tone brisk yet warm.
“Before you both go, we want to talk to you,” Jungkook's father interjected, his voice steady and authoritative. The atmosphere shifted slightly, tension creeping in as if they were all holding their breath.
Jungkook's heart raced. He glanced sideways at Yn, whose expression mirrored his apprehension. “What’s going on?” he asked, trying to maintain a casual tone.
“We want you both to get married,” Yn’s father said, his serious tone cutting through the murmurs in the room.
Stunned silence enveloped the group, as the weight of the declaration settled in. Jungkook's mind raced—married?

The soft hum of the engine filled the silence in the car as Jungkook focused on the road. The vibrant city lights flickered outside, casting a kaleidoscope of colors that danced across the windshield. Despite the world bustling outside, an uneasy tension weighed heavily in the air between him and Yn, who sat quietly in the backseat.
Jungkook's mind drifted back to the earlier conversation with his parents that had sparked this unexpected outing. "Marriage," they had said, with smiles that projected hope and expectation. Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle inwardly—marriage had never been on his radar, certainly not with Yn. He had a plan, one that involved not just any commitment, but a life with Ryu Jin, his girlfriend of two years, who he envisioned building a future with. It was a vision so clear in his mind that Yn's presence felt almost out of place.
"I am…" he had begun, searching for words that would convey his discomfort without offending anyone. But the lump in his throat had swallowed his thoughts, and instead he offered a half-hearted, “I will think about it.” That felt safer. It was easier to evade the uncomfortable truth—that he wasn’t ready to even consider marriage, especially not with someone who seemed as unprepared as he was.
