Later that evening, when it came close to dinner time Laxus and Mirajane came back. But they weren't the only ones that came into the house. Shyla had been cooking dinner when she saw her father come through the door. She dropped the spoon into the pot as her light blue grey eyes widened stunned. "F-Father?!"

"Evening Shyla, I see you're still taking care of dinner like usual." He said with a smile

She teared up and bolted up to him hugging him tightly. "You're home early!" She said happily as she sobbed out against him

Her father hugged her back rubbing her back. "There-there Shyla, it's alright. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

She looked up at her father with a teary smile. "I'm really happy to hear that papa!" She said happily

"I'm going to talk with your sister in her room. So come get us when it's time to eat alright?"

"S-Sure thing papa!" She said happily

When she went back to cooking, Rogue wrapped his arms around her from behind and smiled at her as he leaned his head against her shoulder. "How does it feel knowing that your father is home?"

"Like I have a parental figure that'll actually listen to me...The last month or so of school is going to be something that I'm going to enjoy knowing that my father is here." She said happily. "Tell me did you know my father would be home tonight?"

"I had, your brother had asked me to keep it under wraps from you. He wanted it to be a surprise for you."

"Hm...I see. So that's why the two of them left out together. Some 'date' that was."

"Unless it was to see if Mirajane was accepted by your father? She has been rather worried about being accepted by him."

"Hm, I don't see why she'd be worried about that. She's a sweet woman and brings out the best of my bro."

"I think it's because she feels like if her siblings aren't good to you, that it'll make him not accept her."

She turned the stove off and looked at him confused. "My papa doesn't work like that. Sure he wants to keep me happy. But that doesn't mean that he'll say 'no' to mirajane because her younger sister is a cunt. He'd probably just tell Mirajane to keep her sister as far from me as possible."

While Shyla talked to Rogue she had drained the noodles and rinsed them off. At that time Sting came in. "Yo Rogue, Shyla. Mind if I help the two of you out? I can't stand listening to that bitch talk shit about Shyla."

Shyla let out a sigh before she looked at Sting. "Sure."

She then gave him forks and napkins for everyone who was going to be eating dinner at the table. "Take these and set the table. Take rogue with you so you two can get it done quicker. I'm just about done with dinner."

"Just what are you making anyways?" Sting asked curiously

"You'll just have to wait and see. It's something new I wanted to try out that I've seen online."

"You were watching food shows online again weren't you?" Rogue asked

"No actually, it's something that I saw as an advertisement while doing a school project that caught my attention."

Rogue raised an eyebrow at her "Well that's something I didn't see happen. Alright then. I'll trust your process then shy. I'll go with Sting to help him out. You did place your cushions down on your chair right?"

She nodded her head. "I did. Mind placing my cup at that seat so no one else sits there please?"

"Sure thing Shy."

Rogue then left with Sting after he got a purple cup that had flowers on it. When they had gotten to the dining room Sting raised an eyebrow at Rogue. "Just what were you talking to her about?"

"Shyla has a moderate case of scoliosis. It affects her a lot when she sits down. The only way for that pain not to harm her is if she's on something that has cushion. Which is why there is a specific chair for her. But there have been times were Lisanna has sat in her chair not caring about her having the issues she has. So I have to be sure that Shy's cup is at her place or there's going to be issues."

"Oh shit, wait is that why shyla keeps a pillow with her in school?"

Rogue nodded his head. "Yeah. it's how the school accommodates for her issues."

"hm...I think I know how to help shyla out with that issue."

Rogue raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything to him.
