"Ex- congressman Kit Belmonte surrenders two days after Marcos kidnapping incident."
Leni turned off her phone after reading the latest news. She leaned on the window of the passenger seat and sighed.
Risa who was driving, noticed it. "You did the right thing, mare. Killing him won't bring Jesse back nor save Senator from the trauma." She said - eyes still on the road. "It will only make you a criminal."
"You're too soft for politics, mare." Leni commented with a smile.
"So, pupuntahan mo na ba si 'mahal'?" Risa asked - beaming.
Leni beamed back. "Yes." Her smile faded. "Sana 'di n'ya pa ko nakakalimutan. I lost my phone sa river kaya I don't have idea if he's trying to reach me."
The senator glanced at her. "I don't think he forgot you, mare." Her hand extended and pointed at the view in front of them.
They reached Leni's porch. Standing there was a man in blue polo a bouquet of red roses in his hand. Her hand almost jumped in joy - seeing him well and strong.
Risa stopped the car. "Mauna na ko, mare. Marami kayong dapat pag-usapan."
Leni thanked her and went out of the car - almost running to him. "Mahal," She called. He welcomed her with open arms - allowing her to clash on his chest.
"I missed you, mahal." Bongbong whispered on her ear. "What happened? Why are you not calling me? Okay ka lang ba?" He said - worried and grabbed her by her shoulders.
She chuckled. "Yep. I'm okay." She answered and tiptoed to kiss his lips. "Pasok muna tayo. I have lots of things to explain."
Bongbong followed her inside - their hands were still intertwined. She wrapped her arms around him as they sat on the couch and started telling the story.
"When I woke up without you, I looked for you everywhere in your house." She began narrating. "Then I called your phone and found that it was in your study but you were not there. I decided to cook, thinking that you'll be back but there were no eggs in the fridge."
He moved a little to look at her face. "I have no eggs on the fridge? Did I forget them when I bought groceries?"
Leni laughed and held his chin to face her. "That's not the point. I'm telling the story remember?"
"Yeah. Sorry." He pulled her closer. "Continue, mahal ko."
"So, I said I'll buy some but then I found that the door was left open. Kaya kinabahan ako. I called Risa and watched the CCTV footage. We saw Kit. I saw the documents as well."
~ Flashback ~
"We have no way para mahanap si Senator, madam." The chief of police declared honestly when Leni said that she did not want to have Kit arrested right away.
"I know Kit. He will deny the accusations even with CCTV. Baka patay na si Senator Marcos bago pa natin malaman kung nasa'n s'ya." She explained.
Like a light bulb popped from his head, the chief spoke."If we can plant a tracking chip sa kan'ya, madam. Baka mahanap natin si Senator."
"How small?" Leni asked - thinking.
"Ito po." Then he showed her a rectangular chip, smaller than a needle.
She nodded. "Kaya kong i-plant 'yan."
~ End of Flashback ~
"So, how did you plant it?" Bongbong asked - obviously enthralled.
Leni pouted and looked at him apologetically. "I'm sorry. I've done so many things to cause you pain." She confessed. "Pero don't worry. I don't want him anymore. Ikaw lang ang mahal ko. Ikaw lang ang mamahalin ko."
He was hurt but thinking it was something she did to save him, he felt guilty. "I love you." Was his only answer. "So, what happened next, mahal?"
~ Flashback ~
"Leni, it's okay naman if iwan n'yo ko at the house." Louise said at the backseat. She was worried that Leni had some grudges against her.
Risa glanced at the vice president who replied. "We need all the help we can get. Besides, you've moved on. Haven't you?"
Louise nodded. "Yes. There's nothing to worry about."
Suddenly, her phone rang. It was the chief of police. She immediately answered it - connecting it to her car.
"Madam, he stopped at a location." He started. "But, we don't have people near that location yet. Pero they're on their way."
"Send me the location." She ordered.
"Copy, madam."
After the call ended. Leni took an aggressive turn and raced her car. Risa and Louise were holding for their dear life.
"D'yos ko, mare. Gusto ko pa mabuhay." Risa complained, almost crying.
"Gusto ko pa din s'yang mabuhay, mare." She replied.
When they arrived, they saw men pushing a car down to the river. Leni was already out of her mind. She did not think about the danger.
"LENI!" Risa and Louise both screamed for Leni when she ran out of the car to stop them. They ran next after her but they were already late.
The car was already in the water and the men were getting away. They saw Kit ran away with them.
"Oh my God." Risa exclaimed when Leni jumped on the river without hesitation.
Louise was shaking as she tried dialing the police and ambulance to help them. They were few minutes away from the area.
"Oh my God, mare." Risa repeated when Leni emerged from the water holding an unconscious Bongbong in her arms.
They helped her pull Bongbong from the water and lay him on the ground. Leni began during CPR - pumping his chest rhythmically.
"Mahal, wake up." She said - tears rolling down her cheek.
Louise and Risa saw it. It was a scene out of painting. They were both soaked in water as she tried to breathe him back to life.
Not long after, Bongbong began coughing.
"The ambulance is almost here." Louise announced.
Leni stood up. "Good. Take care of him for me." She walked to her car. "I have something else to take care of."
Risa yelled. "Sa'n ka pupunta?"
Leni did not answer and raced her car after Kit Belmonte's van. She did not mind her current state. She meant it when she said she was going to kill him. From her car's compartment, she pulled out a pistol.
"I'll fucking kill you."
~ End of Flashback ~
"You sound scary." Bongbong commented and hugged her tightly.
"I AM Scary." She emphasized. "You're just my little bunch of sunshine so you won't see that." She laughed.
He pulled her closer and whispered to her ear. "So, you were able to save me because I had no eggs in the fridge."
"Basically, yeah."
"Speaking of...I have not eaten well in days. Feed me." She felt his teeth biting her earlobe.
"Anong gusto mo kainin?" She asked innocently though that was the farthest word to describe her.
"Ikaw sana."
