This was the day.

This was the day that Leni chose - the day she sacrificed her values for, a day that would forever remind her that once upon a time, she chose herself.

She looked outside of the car and saw flocks of crowd outside the church. It was the wedding day of the Vice President of the Philippines and the senator from one of the most influential family in politics. The media was scattered around every corner.

Leni stopped herself from crying.

It's too early for that.

Shutters sounded as soon as the car stopped. The driver walked around and opened the door for her. Carefully, she stepped out of the car - lifting her heavy white gown with her.

Every step she took up on the church's entrance felt like flights on the stairs to heaven. Inside that, the love of her life would be waiting for her; the only person she would submit to, the reason for her madness.

When the double door opened, she saw him at the end of the aisle - waiting eagerly, yet patiently. She saw Martin tapped his shoulder as the music started playing.

If time forbids forever
I'll settle for a lifetime with you
If luck shall call me never
I'll still take my chances with you

That was her cue to begin walking slowly on the aisle. She knew everyone's eyes were on her. She knew that they were all people dear to her. But her eyes were fixated on a certain pair of obsidian orbs.

If I get lost, my love
I will find my way back to you
Because my heart remembers
That I'm so in love with you

His eyes were on her as well. Beautiful was an understatement. She was wearing an off-shoulder white gown that brushed the tiled floor of the cathedral. Her smile was brighter than the jewelry she was wearing.

If sunshines fade, and moonlights wane
I'll stay right here with you
If patience tiredly stops its wait
Oh I am willing to wait for you

She took her time. She had to. That was a once in a lifetime moment - or twice for her but not for the same man. As she drew closer, she noticed his eyes welling up. With that, she finally gave in to her emotions. Her tears began crawling down her cheeks.

If sorrow falls like rain
Oh I will never fail
To be the one you needed
As long as you want me to

She did not care if it would erase her make up. She believed that she paid enough to make sure it would stay there. All she was thinking about was the fact that her groom was there crying his heart out. She smiled as she was watching him being consoled by his cousin because he was crying like a child.

Your touch, echoes through stars and galaxies far
Your kiss, diminishes every fear
With you, we can brace for infinity
Our story will make gods of love envious
With locked hands, we can face anything

He was not a cry baby. Some people used to say that he was heartless because of his lack of emotions. However, he could not help but cry after seeing her walk nearer.

This amazing creature would be his.

He was able to bind a lioness and she was crying for him too. His heart was so full at that moment. He could not wait to spend the rest of his life with this woman who was just a few more steps away from him.

If fate shall write its joke on us
I will fight the odds for you
If death shall come before us
I am happy I spent my life with you
Oh im so in love with you

She reached his place in front of the altar. He was still sobbing when he took her hand and kissed it. Suddenly, the place seemed to opened around her - making her realize that they were inside the church and people were watching.

"Huy, tumigil ka nga. Baka sabihin pinilit kita." She joked as she wrapped her arms around him.

"Hindi ba?" He asked making both of them laughed before they both faced the altar before them.

"Mare," Risa said. She was standing in front of the couple at the reception and holding a mic. "You always choose what is good for your people. I am so happy that this time, pinili mo yung sarili mo. Mahal na mahal kita, mare. Congratulations!"

"And to Senator Marcos," She continued. "Alam kong kaya ng mare kong ipagtanggol ang sarili n'ya pero please, be there for her always. She loves you more than you think she does. Thank you for loving her. Congratulations!"

She laughed as the senator passed the mic to other people in the venue who began giving their messages to the couple.

When Imee stood, Leni unconsciously tightened her hold on Bongbong's hand. He glanced at her as he noticed it but he did not think anything of it.

"Leni, Bongets, Congratulations." She started. "There have been so many challenges in your life but you really showed everyone that love conquers all." She smiled bitterly. "Leni, hindi mo alam kung gaano ako nagpapasalamat sayo. You made our brother whole again. You accepted him fully that he stopped questioning his worth. If hindi dahil sayo, siguro wala na rin s'ya. You are so brave, Leni. Thank you so much for loving our Bongets."

After her, Imelda followed. "Bong, anak, I love you... Pero I love Leni more. 'Wag mo s'yang sasaktan. Baka tamaan ka sakin." She said - raising her fist.

"Ma..." Bongbong complained that made Leni laugh.

They were still in the middle of the reception when Martin ran towards the table of the Marcos' family. He looked bothered by the call he received. Bongbong was too curious to stay on his seat so they approached them as well.

"The mansion was robbed." Martin dropped the bomb. "Paintings, vases...Lahat ng valuable. Gone." He continued - panting.

They all looked at each other with a bothered expression. "Look into it, Martin." Imelda commanded then looked at Bongbong. "We are finishing the reception.

Leni looked at Bongbong with hopeful eyes as they smiled with each other.
