ANDA's POV
Hello! My name is Alexandra Acosta. Isa akong university scholar at may mataas na pangarap para sa pamilya ko. I am a Civil Engineering 1st yr college in DLSU. I got to study here in La Salle because of my scholarship and by the help of my mother's friend na taga US.
I'm preparing myself early this morning because its my first day as a college student. Finally, malayo na pero malayo pa.
"Anak nakagayak ka na pala" bati sa akin ni mama. "Opo ma, mahirap na baka malate ako. Fisrt impression lasts pa naman" tugon ko habang nakangiti sa aking ina.
"Kumain ka muna, nak" agad ko namang kinuha ang pinggan ko at nagsandok ng sinangag at kumuha ng itlog. "Onti lang ma, aalis narin ako baka abutan pa ako ng traffic"
Nakasakay na ako ng jeep at 7 o'clock na. "Piskit aabot pa kaya ako nito" bulong ko sa sarili ko habang nag-aalala.
"Hay sa wakas umusad na rin" banggit ng katabi ko sa jeep. "Halaaa, bakit naman nag pa gas pa si manong" irritable kong tanong. Wala late na talaga ako neto. Bakit kaya ganon, pag late tayo parang nararamdaman ng driver kaya naman mag papa gas pa sila😔
7:25 am
I arrived at the campus pero 5 mins na lang mag start na klase, I run for my life para maunahan ko teacher namin. Nang bigla akong napahinto dahil may nabangga akong paharang-harang sa daan. "Oh shuxxx!!! Unsa mani Oi!(ano ba yan) Late na nga ako oh piskit!" Bigla kong sambit. Hindi ko na ito pinansin pagkatapos kong pulutin ang gamit ko at agad akong tumakbo muli papuntang classroom.
Sino kaya yung pogi na nabangga ko kanina hays, kung hindi lang talaga ako malalate baka nag pa slowmo effect pa ako.
Nagpapakilala na yung teacher sa harap ng biglang may tumatakbo papasok ng classroom. "Shet, si pogi to ah. Teka bakit kasama niya si Cali?" Tanong ko sa sarili ko.
Hindi naman sila nakalampas sa sermon ni ma'am Lauren, strikto pala siya. Mas lalo tuloy akong kinabahan na malate.
I focused myself on taking notes about the materials na kailangan namin sa Drawing for Engineering namin then suddenly someone asked me that makes me froze in my position.
"Are you taken?" Luh bilis naman netong manok na pula na 'to. "Excuse me?" Mataray na sagot ko rito. "Oh sorry, I mean is this seat taken?" Sus palusot pa, pero no, I'm single ehhekdjdhsk.
"Nakikita mo namang bakante diba?" Pilosopong sagot ko na kinagulat naman nito. "Tsk! Sungit" she whisper to herself but loud enough for me to hear it.
The class proceeds and it seems enjoyable, siguro kasi first year palang naman kami.
"What is the difference between a Civil Engineer and an Architect?" Our prof asked.
I raised my hand and answer "Civil engineers ma'am are the proffesional who builds structural buildings while Architects are the ones who design the overall look of houses, buildings, and other structures."
"That's right! What's your name again?"
"I'm Alexandra Acosta po ma'am" i respond. "Your right miss Acosta, but I need more answer." Then my seatmate raised her hand. "Yes Ija? Your name and answer please" ma'am Lauren obligued.
"I'm Matteah Leabres, yes it is true that Civil engineers builds structural buildings. But they also builds bridges, highways, rail roads, water dam and most commonly houses. They are also an inventor. And their main focus is to ensure the safety of the structures." Edi wow, mukhang may academic rival nanaman ako this A.Y.
"Very Good, miss Leabres" our prof applaud. Yeah she's really good.
During our class time, I tried to approach her to ask about the lessons pero hindi namamansin. Snob si accla. Apaka nonchalant naman neto.
While I was writing some notes, i got distracted because someone is snoring. Buti nalang snore hindi moan. I look at her and I can't help but to stare at her almost perfect face. She looks like an angel. Gosh Anda nababading ka nanaman.
I was taken back to my senses when Cali approached me. "Huy Anda, baka matunaw pinsan ko ah" pinsan? Magpinsan pala sila kaya pala parehas silang poganda.
Cali and I are high school friends, kasama namin sila Maisie, Jace at Star. Cali is my high school crush pa nga, pero crush den siya ni Maisie kaya wag nalang. Baka masabunutan pa ako nang 'di oras.
Speaking of Maisie, Maisie run towards our direction and shout "Anda!!! I miss yo-" she was cut off nang mapa tingin to kay Cali "hi my babyloves, anjan ka pala hihihi. I miss you" lantod talaga netong si Maisie "Really? Sa harap pa ng super crunch at coke ko?" Pagsabat naman ni Jace while showing disgusted face "Ka-Oa mo naman, inggit ka lang eh" pagsulpot naman ni star sa kaniyang likod.
"Yes inggit ako, lambingin mo rin kasi ako babe" jace teasing Star while pouting "kadiri ka JR, 'wag ka nga mag pout. Mukha kang pouta" Saad naman ni Star sabay irap.
Napatigil naman kami ng biglang nagsalita yung manok na pula sa tabi ko "excuse me, do you mind talking somewhere? Kasi y'll bothers me a lot" annoyance was shown to her face and I felt bad about it kahit 'di naman ako yung maingay.
"Bro come with us, we'll get something from the cafetria since it's breaktime na" Cali break the awkwardness between us. Matteah stand up from her chair and followed us to the Cafe.
Time skip...
We're back at the classroom, it is time for our next subject. Sir Salazar is assigned as our professor in CE introduction.
"Class, for this activity I'll pair each one of you to create this scale model of a bridge. Choose which type of bridge you'll build."
Cali and Maisie are paired together, while Jace is with Star. I'm the only left who doesn't have a partner. "Sino pa walang partner?" Prof asked. Me and Matteah raised our hands. "Oh kayong dalawa na lang pala wala eh, edi that means kayo nalang dalawa"
I look at her if it's okay with her "it's okay if you're not comfortable with me, I can switch with Cali para kayo nalang partner" i suggested and she just stared at me blankly and raise her thick eyebrows "it's fine, we'll do it at my place"
