05: "Days before the event."

"You called?" The Conquerer Of Demons appears in their sight, crossing his arms followed by the slight green mist that could be seen after he appeared in the blink of an eye upon hearing Zhongli's call. He knew he should act formal at the presence of Rex Lapis, being disguised as a mortal known as Zhongli, but he can't bow down nor serve him as his lord since Rex Lapis wanted to be hidden and cannot spoil the fact that Rex Lapis has not been truly killed.

The said Adeptus has a keen eyesight, able to see things from a far distance. Thus, why he would always observe the others from afar to ensure of their safety. Including the Traveler himself. His dark green hair flowing in the gentle breeze of Liyue as he stood there, waiting as for what needed to be said. Though stern and stoic and bounded by Karmic Debt, his life already feels at ease once he met the kind Traveler in front of him.

"You see, Lantern Rite is approaching once more as you know. And one would like you to join these three in their adventure for the time being until the event ends." Zhongli spoke, pointing at Yura, Aether and Paimon. Yoruka is frozen still like a deer in headlights, staring at the Adeptus as no words could be said from her.

"I am not going." Xiao grunted, his expression scowling. He had the audacity to narrow his golden orbs, at the Geo Archon himself. Nothing would convince him, not even a mortal-

"Xiao, I know you're not fond of crowded places but.. please? We barely spend time with each other, I even came all the way here to see you too.." The Traveler speaks, his gaze softens in a saddened way. His tone wavers, upset at the thought that the Conquer of Demons will refuse to attend the Lantern Rite event.

The Conquerer of Demon's eyes widen at the scene that folded in front of him. The Traveler himself that once got him to grow soft and open up to others, was guilt tripping him. He gritted his teeth, unable to resist the Traveler's tactics at all. He then sighed, quickly giving in as he spoke in a defeated tone.

"Fine. I'll go, but not for long. No promises."

He finished his sentence. Then Xiao, The Conquerer Of Demons finally took a good long look at the odd girl they spoke about and brought with them. He raised his eyebrow and looked slightly confused, recognizing the girl that wore a kimono and it's very obvious that she is from Inazuma. He was about to say something, but Zhongli's intent yet warning gaze on him made him hesitate.

"Hello, my name's Yura.. If you didn't know already." Yura spoke to the Anemo Adeptus, her tone calm as she puts on a smile on her robotic face.

The said Adeptus only nods, no longer keeping his gaze fixed onto her face. The atmosphere feels too awkward here, silence fills the air. No one speaks as everyone except Xiao awkwardly smile at each other as a bead of sweat runs down their faces.

Paimon loudly clears her throat, catching everyone's attention, "Soooooooo, when's the Lantern Rite gonna begin? Zhongli, do you know when?"

"In about four days or so. Though, you all should meet Cloud Retainer first, One heard that there's going to be a lion dance too." The old grandpa speaks next, still drinking his dear beloved Osmanthus wine in the conversation. Xiao only sighs at that sight.

Paimon scratches her head, "Erm, Zhongli. I don't think Yura knows who Cloud retainer is yet.." said Paimon.

Her words caught their attention, Xiao, Zhongli, Yura and Yoruka. They all eye each other, wondering if they should just tell the truth, Yura shakes her head as if she knows that they want to spill the secret already. But no, it's too early and it's crowded here. Unwanted people will overhear it and make rumors.
