I, Bolu, stepped out of the car and gazed up at the imposing Gothic buildings of Divinebye College. My heart raced with excitement as I began my freshman year, eager to leave my mark on this prestigious institution. My friends, Israel, Bukky, Michael, Yeni, and Sharon, were all equally thrilled to be here.
As we settled into our dormitories, we spent the first few days exploring the campus, attending orientation events, and getting to know our classmates. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the buzz of new beginnings and possibilities.
One evening, as we strolled across the quad, Bukky pointed out the old library building. "That's where the college's most famous alumni studied," she said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I gazed up at the library's turrets and spires, wondering what secrets lay within its walls.
Little did we know, our innocent curiosity would soon lead us down a dangerous path, uncovering secrets that were meant to remain hidden.
As we approached our dormitory, we noticed a commotion near the entrance. A group of students were gathered around something on the ground, their faces filled with concern. We quickened our pace, curiosity getting the better of us.
"What's going on?" Israel asked one of the students.
"It's a message," the student replied, her voice trembling. "Someone wrote it on the wall... in blood."
We exchanged uneasy glances, our minds racing with worst-case scenarios. Bukky hesitated, but I pulled her along, determined to see what was happening.
As we pushed through the crowd, we saw it. Scrawled on the wall in red letters was a chilling message: "They will never leave." A shiver ran down my spine. Who wrote this? And what did it mean?
