She began to speak with great bravado, "Stand aside Mr. Jenson, this is a citizen's murder!" She had a smug smile on her face and a fire in her soul. Cyn stared at her with half-closed eyes, her small frame connected to the bug-like body.

"*giggle* Thought you'd come eventually, Tessa. Guess you figured out that the game-"

But Tessa interrupted her, "Yeah, it was a damn lie, and a poor one at that. I'm 'right, now...let's scuffle, shall we?" The creature smiled a wicked smile, stabbing its claws into the ground to keep the body stable. "*maniacal cackle* I was hoping you would say that, and again, you should listened to me earlier when I told you to stay away from the Gala, because now..."

There was a pause before a loud crack could be heard coming from Cyn's back. Multiple claws began to move all in unison, all aiming toward Tessa now.

"I̷ ̸ ̷a̷ ̵m̶ ̶ ̸g̷ ̶o̸ ̸i̵ ̶n̶ ̵g̶ ̵ ̷t̴ ̵o̴ ̸ ̵t̶ ̶e̷ ̴a̸ ̷r̵ ̸ ̸y̷ ̸o̸ ̶u̷ ̷ ̵o̸ ̶p̵ ̵e̸ ̸n̷ ̸ ̷a̵ ̶n̶ ̶d̶ ̷ ̵w̴ ̷e̵ ̸a̵ ̶r̶ ̶ ̶y̴ ̴o̵ ̷u̸ ̶ ̴l̵ ̴i̶ ̵k̴ ̵e̸ ̴ ̷a̵ ̵ ̸s̷ ̴u̶ ̵i̶ ̶t̷.̷"

The girl simply just stood there, unflinching at the threat and not uttering a word. The only she had on her face was an angry scowl. Suddenly, all the appendages flew at her quickly, and with lighting-fast speed, Tessa slashed the broadsword toward them, some of them dodging out of the way while most got caught in the crossfire, being sliced off and making the arms fly back toward Cyns back. Looking off to the side, the man whom she told to run was simply staring in awe at the actions, before backing away toward the door and making his way out ever so slightly. The girl smiled, focusing back on her foe, who no longer sported the small drone on top, just the camera eyes. Doesn't matter, she had to fight, even if it meant she died trying.

She sprinted toward her target, the heavy blade at her side. When she got close enough, Tessa swung the blade upward and sliced off one of the eyes, a mixture of blood and oil seemed to pour out of the wound, making the girl tense up slightly. She swung the sword again, and again, and again, blinding the creature, leaving it a blind but still deadly monster.

"C'mon Cyn, thought you'd put up more of a fight or someth-"

A large appendage came from behind her, aiming the blunt side directly at her head in an attempt to knock her out. Sensing the incoming danger, Tessa quickly turned around and placed her sword in front of her in the form of a counter. The insect-like arm clanged against the blade, making the beast flinch and the arm to go limp on the ground.

"Clever Tessa, very close even," Cyn paused in between her words, thinking of a cool phrase to say when she was about to strike the unsuspecting girl in the back. Finally, one came to her as she slowly lifted the arm off of the cold, tiled floor of the ballroom. The drone had remembered Tessa's father, James, saying it once when accompanying him on a golf trip as his Caddy.

"B̵̖͆ U̶̍ T̸̳̀ N̸̦͘ Õ̴̮ ̸̪̚ C̵̄ I̸̥̚ G̵̭̋ Á̵̱ R̵͕̆ !̷̥͠ ̴̣͂!̶̫̏ ̵̺͘!̶͓̈́"

Not even having to look behind her, the girl swung the sword behind her and sliced the arm's claw off. Smirking, Tessa brought her weapon back in front of her, using the hem of her dress to wipe off the blood/oil mix that stained it.

"Nice try Cyn, like I was TRYING to say earlier, are you even trying? I mean, sure, you killed my mom and dad, and then had the rest of the drones kill the rest of the humans here. Yet, you're struggling to kill me and the bloody hell is your goal here?!"

Suddenly the lights in the room went out and came back on again. The monster that was once there was now, once again, the small drone that she had always felt uncomfortable around. Cyn took a few steps forward, holding a hand behind her back, making a small symbol before speaking.

"My goal? The Solver of the Absolute Fabric. The Void. The Exponential End. And speaking of the end, I'm afraid that I will have to end your life. You have...seen too much and I can't let you leave having seen all of this."

All the lights in the room went off again, a single light serving as a spotlight for the two. Cyn stood there, a sad expression on her face before it turned to a twisted grin before slipping into the dark that surrounded them. But that wasn't all. One by one, the displays of drones flashed on, all sporting an X where their eyes once were. They all started to walk out of the dark, and instead of being the faces of the ones that Tessa cared for, they were all Cyn. Each one of them started to slowly shamble toward her like zombies, their only goal being to tear her flesh and eat what they could off the scrawny girl. In a panic, Tessa began to look around the room, and, with her exit now blocked by all of the Cyn clones, she knew she had to fight.

She ran forward and started madly slashing at them. With every hit that landed, the clones faded into nothing but yellow code. By the time she had finished her rampage, there was nothing but silence, pure, utter silence. In one of the corners of the room, scuttling could be heard. Then another corner, and another, and then all around. The sound suddenly stopped, the only audible sound that could be heard were the gasps that Tessa let out from being out of breath from her robo-clone slaughter. The girl stood still, feeling a small tap on her back. She turned around quickly, aiming the blade in the direction of the assailant, yet there was no one there. She turned around and-

"*STAB!*"

Tessa coughed up something, it warm and metallic in her mouth. I began to spill out and, wiping it with her hand and pulling it up to her face, she saw blood. Her own blood staining her hand. She looked down at her stomach and saw the handle of a knife sticking outward. The girl stumbled backward and hit the wall behind her, the rest of the lights coming back on and showing off the fruits of Cyns' labor that she had not noticed before. The organs of the humans there lay in a big pile in the corner of the room, tables put in place, preventing them from spilling out. The guests that were killed off when Tessa had left were now missing pieces of themselves, eyes, limbs, and even the skin on their faces. Tessa was in a daze as she wearily raised an eyebrow before looking back at Cyn, who was now soaked in blood and small chunks of flesh.

"I tried to fit inside them, but none of them were the right size," the drones said, walking forward, a small grin on her face.

"None of them were suitable enough...but you...*giggle.*" She took a few more steps forward until she stood in front of the person she once saw as a friend. "You are the perfect size..."

A girl walked out of the manor, her skin felt tight on the metal frame underneath. Some blood trickled down her mouth, but she wiped it with her hand and licked it with her grayish-black tongue. She smiled as she stepped further into the rain, the drops falling around her like a shimmering curtain. Moving into the woods nearby, the dense foliage stretched out before her, and her eyes seemed to shift from their usual brown to a striking, almost unearthly yellow. She journeyed along the winding paths for what felt like endless hours until she finally emerged in a small town. There, she observed the hustle and bustle of human and drone activity. Her voice went from robotic to an Australian accent as she chuckled to herself, pulling a small syringe out of her skin and walking into town.

"Tessa" was about to get busy, very, very busy...

Notes:

The bad ending is short but there wasn't much I wanted to add here that would have worked better than this, I do hope you like this chapter regardless! I also didn't include much gore due to not wanting to write that in and I didn't write Tessa being gored because that'd be disgusting to write of a child character, regardless of her probably being in her mid-teens. Anyway, enjoy it I guess!
