Prologue: The Journey

Alright so where do I begin?

I go on vacation to try and escape the stresses and ties of life only to just wrap myself up in something else. I've been reading Warriors for well over 5 or 6 years now, but I've never felt a connection or feeling towards another character like this before, at least not as quickly as this. I picked up a comic book about the first Warriors book from a local shop in the town where I was staying.

The book was great (kudos to the design team for doing such a good job) but it reawakened something in me when I read over the part where Firestar, who was Firepaw at the time, meet Spottedleaf for the first time. It was like memories of all the ships, fantasy's, What If's, all came flooding back. My thoughts kept running wild about stories and alters about how to possibly save Spottedleaf or what would happen if she lived. The main thing that hit me the most was the wasted character potential with Spottedleaf. To me she was basically killed off before she could make an impact on the story, and was left to fulfill the "  I'll guide you from Starclan and also make you regret your life choices" role in the book. I decided the only way to clam my thoughts was to write about what could have been in the story your reading now. So without further ado, let us begin.

As I sat there typing my feelings out on the phrases above, a black cat walked up and jumped onto the desk next to my computer.

"Hey there", he said greeting me.

I jumped back in surprise. "You can talk"?!

He looked confused. " I mean yeah, what else am I supposed to do? Go meow meow or something? Man you humans really need to open your eyes."

I thought I hit my head on something, or was it something I ate? I didn't even know at this point. " Where did you come from?" I asked. "Last time I checked cats couldn't speak English." Then I noticed the book, it's page was wide open, and a spot where a cat should have been was blank, almost as if-

"I jumped out of it" the cat responded.

I thought for sure I was dreaming now, but memory served me right, I was awake and out of bed for 5 hours now, and after a full nights rest I seriously doubted I was day dreaming. I tried to think why a fictional character was talking to me, or who he even was. The cat was mostly black with a small white patch on it's chest. I gasped in realization, " your ravenpaw!".

"No I'm Lebron James" Ravenpaw chuckled. "Sorry, barley taught me sarcasm the other day."

"Very fitting of him" I replied, "Now what are you doing here?"

Ravenpaw straightened himself up, cleared his throat and replied " Starclan tasked me with jumping between worlds and bring you into the Warrior life. They have noticed how you have fantasied about changing events in the story, and have offered you a chance to make an impact."

That got my attention. A chance to do something was all I ever wanted, and now it was here. " Consider me in, what do I have to do?"

" Just say you in on it" Ravenpaw replied. I echoed his words and felt my body begin to change. What was once a tall human being was now replaced by something at least 4 times smaller. I stared at what had once been my feet, that had now become paws. I looked at my reflection in a nearby mirror and suddenly realized.

I'm a cat now

Average size black hair with a few orangish-red looking stripes forming across my head in what looked to be a resemblance of a fire burning with brown eyes.  Ravenpaw gestured for me to follow him but before he jumped into the book he asked me one thing.

" What should we call you?"

The answer came to me immediately, "EternalFlame".

He nodded, "Eternalpaw for now, but I'm sure that will change. Welcome to ThunderClan."

I could hardly believe this was happening, but I had a chance to change things forever.

" Alright then, here goes nothing". I jumped into the book

And our story begins.
