A customer slams a loaf of bread on the counter. "This bread didn't have any cheese inside it. All I could taste is dill. No cheese." They say. I didn't make that loaf. Dammit Blake. I think as I try to be nice. I'm a baker in Brightwater, Shineland. My name is River Mason, and I live in a fantasy land. No joke, there are weird fantasy animals who fly around constantly. I just turned 21 a couple days ago, so now I can legally drink. I've been excited about that because in 2 days the King and Queen of Brightwater are hosting the 45th birthday of their castle. And normally they have a bunch of fancy alcoholic drinks. This year is different though, the princess, Sylvia will now be attending the anniversary of the castle. Normally she can't because well... she's royalty and can't risk anyone in the town hurting her. Oh yeah, the whole town is invited. I started to think about the things I'll buy for the party until "Hey! You gonna do something about my bread?" The old lady at the counter snaps. "Sorry, I was just... thinkin'.." I shrug. "Sorry about the bread." I hand the customer 30 bucks. She snatches it. "You really screwed up that bread. The cheesy dill bread is my favorite." She scoffs. The cheesy dill bread is a popular recipe at the bakery. Oh yeah, it's called Fancy Pastries. "I'm pretty sure my brother made that loaf today. He's not very committed to this job. He's like 17 and sometimes 17 year Olds just really don't care..." I ramble, before stopping myself. I love my little brother, Blake, but I swear he can suck sometimes. "Anyway, I'll talk it out with him and," I hand her a coupon "your next loaf is on us!" I smile. And as soon as the old lady leaves I storm to the backroom, where I see Blake in a chair trying out tiktok filters. "River, tiktok says I look like Markiplier!" He beams, but I flick his forehead "Your blonde, Blake!" I roll my eyes and try to chill out for a second. "Blake, did you make the cheesy dill loaf today?" I sigh, and he nods. "Dude! You forgot the cheese!" I groan. "C'mon, you can't even taste the cheese!" He defends himself. I sit down knowing he's right. "True. But apparently some people can. Just-... add the cheese next time..." I sigh. In brightwater, it's a small town, everyone knows everyone, so I hoped that lady didn't blab about the bread. I get up, and it's 7:45. And me and Blake's shift ended. "Yessss-uh! Hells over!" Blake smiles. Our boss, Kai comes in. They chuckle a bit "No its not, Blake. Infact, I need you two to stay here until closing." They shrug. "What the fu-... why!?" Blake whines. "Basil and Melissa didn't come, Blake. Don't be such a Puss about your job." Kai, puts they're hands on they're hips and walks off. Closing is at 10:00. "Uh," Blake turns to me. "soo, what time is closing?"

When me and Blake get Home, I flop on the couch. Blake immediately walks to his room. I grab the remote, and turn on TV. Brightwater isn't very electronic friendly. Not that they made electronics illegal or anything, just if your on your phone outside, people will give you glares. So I shut the curtains to avoid that. I turn on the news. "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and of course every other configuration of being, my name is Wilfo-" the TV glitches out. I tap the remote, and the TV comes back. "-rfstache and you won't believe the news I got for you guys! The little town... uh, er... Brightwater! Brightwater is bringing out their princess, Silver!... wait... I mean Sylvia-! Sylvia for their silly little castle thingy!" The man on the news said. It's weird that he forgot the Princess' name. He only broadcasts to Brightwater. No where else. But I shrug it off and just listen to the man. "I mean, King Levi and Queen Estella have never brought her out for any castle anniversary! They just hide her away. As if they don't even care!" The man scoffs. "But anyway, I know the citizens of Brightwater are excited to see her." The man then starts to talk about the color pink. I turn off the TV and go in my room. I sigh and go to bed. I have to shop for a dress tomorrow.
