(River)
Birds come in my room, chirping. I notice it's like... 7:00. I get up from my bed, the birds chirping stops. That was probably the nice way of saying I look like crap. "Thank you." I say sarcastically. I go to the bathroom to get ready for work. "Hello, human! Have you gone outfit shopping for princess Sylvia's party?" A bird asks. "It's not Sylvia's party, it's the castles party." I sigh and start brushing my hair. "You didn't hear the man on the news?" Another bird scoffs. I heard him blab about the color pink. "I heard him. But I turned off the TV when-" "So you didn't hear him say that were not only celebrating The Castle but were also celebrating Sylvia meeting the town?" A bird laughs. I put down the brush. "Maybe I didn't but," I step out of the bathroom, the birds still following me "Thats good for her." I grab my bag. "Your hair is like a rats ass-" "Chirpy!" A bird interrupts another bird, and I turn to face the birds. "But yes, you should do something with your hair. You don't want the neighborhood folk to think your ratty!" The bird sighs. I walk back to the bathroom, to put my hair in a bun. "So did you only come here to tell me I look like a rats ass or was there something you needed?" I sigh. The birds nod and hand me a pink feather. "Uh... thanks?" I say and put it on the counter. "No. You need that." A bird says. "You need to give that to the princess. It's from a DreamFeather bird. She loves DreamFeathers." The bird chirps. "Uhm, I mean... I guess I will. Is anyone else getting her a gift?" I ask, and put it in my purse. "No. But-" The bird starts. "We heard some castle gossip." A bird says. "What is it?" I ask. "Oh no, we can't tell ya, but you might wanna bribe her into her choosin' you!" A different bird shrugs. Bribery? I thought as I leaned against the bathroom counter. "Choosing me?" I sigh. "Yes, yes!" The birds chirp. "First of all, Why do you want her to choose me so bad, and second, choose me for what?" I ask. "Well, 1 you seem perfect for the job, and 2, that's castle business." A bird shrugs. "I already have a job, though. Which, you guys are making me late too." I check the clock. "Well, the job is also castle business..." the bird mutters and looks down. "Oooh! Like a castle cook? I've always wanted to be a cook!" I jump excitedly. "Human-... er River, I mean..." the bird looks at my name tag. "River, you aren't gonna be a castle cook, no no," the bird laughs, hardly. "No!" The bird chuckles a bit, but eventually starts up laughing a bit harder. Then he stops "No, you'll be something way better." He nods. I roll my eyes "Like...?" I tap my foot. "River! That's castle business. But it's a business you'll enjoy!" The bird heads for my window, "By the way, I'll be here tomorrow, without these idiots. Names Oreo by the way!" The bird leaves. I wonder what he's talking about. But I just get ready for work anyway.
