This is after season four, everyone made it out alive and the Upside was fully closed for good this time. The thing with the portals ripping through Hawkins never happened, and somehow they were all able to prove Eddie was innocent. The buyers had moved from Lenora back to Hawkins permanently, and for some reason Argyle told Jonathan he wasn't leaving him. Said he was uncomfortable being in Lenora when Jonathan wasn't so he followed the buyers to Hawkins and bought a trailer in the park where Eddie and Max lived. Also in this Nancy and Jonathan did go to college together but eventually found out they didn't like each other in that way anymore, Nancy ending up with Robin and Jonathan with Argyle. And yes I'm making everything gay shut up i don't care. Trans FtM eddie and kind of time period hating of being trans. warning for some brief negative talk about body parts this is of course done to match the time period in which these characters live and is not a reflection of my own thoughts. all bodies are beautiful, no matter what a person has or does not have and if anyone says different, fuck them yall hear me? No one should be bullied or called a freak or made to feel like who they are or how they identify rests entirely on what's in between their legs. Anywaysssss

Steve was having a pool party with the older kids. Said they all needed a moment of not having to worry about the little shits after everything that happened. It had been going fine, mostly drinking, quite a bit of groping from all present, and for a second it felt like they were all back in high school. Just being dumb teenagers and not worrying about having to save the world. Most of them were in the pool although Eddie was chilling on the side drinking but cheering everyone on, even when Steve spilled half the pool trying to drench him. After the tenth time of asking him to join them in the pool Steve had given up and just let Eddie chill. He didn't know why but he could never get Eddie to swim, he avoided the pool entirely when he was at Steve's. Robin kept trying to get them all to do dumb things, which was strange considering Robin was the only one not drinking or smoking. But it made sense she was the most energetic out of everyone normally anyways. Nancy was trying to get her to calm down just a bit, and Steve had to laugh. "She reminds me of you that night you broke up with me Nance except she's not blackout drunk." Nancy looked towards Steve with a glare, "Not true, i can hold my liquor steve." Jonathan pulled away from Argyle's lips just long enough to utter, "I can agree with Steve, Nance, you were wasted that night." She kind of shakes her head but before she can get an argument out, Robin wraps her arms around Nancy leaning against her for support, "I HAVE AN IDEA!" Nancy flinched away a little since Robin was right in her ear but she wrapped an arm around robin holding her up.

Steve laughed, he was glad to see his friends happy, never in a million years did he think Nancy Wheeler would end up with another girl but hey. Robin had that effect on people, she helped both him and Jonathan realize their own feelings, quite literally having to explain to Steve what being bi-sexual was, and that there indeed was a word for being able to like both boys and girls. And it was times like this, just the six of them when they could be themselves. Hawkins wasn't a very accepting town and neither were any of their parents, well except Joyce. She was coming to terms with Will coming out and she was cool with it; she just wanted to protect him at the same time. She knew about Jonathan and Argyle too, the kids knew about all of them and had promised not to tell anyone because they knew the consequences of being different in this town. But it was just small moments like this when they could actually kiss who they wanted to without judgment from others that made them realize how lucky they were. Steve pulled himself out of the pool in front of the chairs and he felt Eddie's foot against his back, but when Steve looked back he pawned it off like he was stretching. "What's your idea Robin?" She smiled brightly as the second Steve turned to face hers Eddie kicked Steve back into the pool no hesitation and when he resurfaced Steve splashed water at Eddie who was laughing. "We should have a game of chicken! You guys know what that is right?" Everyone nodded and kind of muttered in agreement that yeah that could be fun.
