2x04: Stuck

"So, who's this new firefighter I've been hearing so much about?" Gianna asks her sister-in-law, Verónica rolls her eyes, "What about him?" she questions.

"I dunno, Mari came over for dinner and was raving on about the tension between the two of you" Gianna informed her of what her younger sister-in-law said, "God tension, there's no tension," Veró says taking a sip of her coffee, she looks over to the living room and sees Lizzy talking to her niece, Lena and her nephew, Miguel. "So, he's ugly, you mean?" Gianna continues.

"Ugly? Gia that man is so beautiful it actually hurts" Verónica illustrates to her sister-in-law, Gianna smiles and chuckles "I see" Gia remarks. A new voice enters the sister-in-law's conversation, "So you wanna make out with the new firefighter?" Miguel questions his aunt. Both women looked shocked at the young boy's statement, "Makeout? What do you know about making out?" Gianna questions her son's remark.

"I just know stuff," Miguel says, making both women smile. "Go, Go play," Gia tells her son, waving him off. "So do you?" Gianna questions Veró. Verónica raises an eyebrow, "Do what?"

"Make Out with the hot firefighter" Gianna clarifies, Verónica takes a breath "Yes, No, I don't know, I mean he's hot as hell and he's so sweet and kind. And his son is adorable, I mean he's a single dad for God's sake" She says.

"You like him" Gianna teases poking at Veró's arm, "Fine maybe a little," she says, gesturing with her fingers. The sisters-in-law continue talking, "I have to go to work before your aunt sends out a rescue team" Verónica says referring to Athena, "hey she's your mom" Gianna says back, hugging her sister-in-law. "Thank you for watching Lizzy, today," she says, "No problem, she's family".

At the station, Verónica sees Athena walk out of their captain's office, "Hey Ma, why were you in Elaine's office" she questions. Athena looks at her daughter, sighs, and says "She's finally giving me the promotion I've requested before".

"Are you gonna take it?" Verónica questions her mother figure, "I don't know, I have a lot of thinking to do" Verónica looks at Athena, to see if the woman has any intention of taking the job. Although Verónica wanted what was best for her mom, she felt a pang in her chest that wanted her not to take it, she enjoyed working side by side with her mom. "You should do what's best for yourself, what you want to do," Verónica says, Athena looks at her and smiles, "I told you the same thing when you were looking for colleges and majors," she told her daughter. Verónica looked down and grinned, "You give good advice, Ma" she complimented.

Verónica's shift went by and soon it was lunch, and she decided to get lunch in front of this new bar. As she walked back to her patrol car with her food, she was flagged down by a group of people who were asking for help. Reluctantly, Verónica went to help and discovered a girl's head was stuck in a tailpipe; they had called for firefighters.

"If it isn't my favorite firefighters," Verónica said to the 118 as they arrived on the scene, "Veró, what are you doing here" Chim asked as the team gathered around the girl. The officer puts on an annoyed face, "I was getting lunch across the street and they flagged me down for help"

"Hey we thought you could help" some idiot from the crowd exclaims, "I'm a cop, not a firefighter or paramedic," she says back.

"Hi, what's her name?" Chimney asked, "Betty," the man next to the truck said, simultaneously the girl said "Jennifer". The man took his arm off the truck, and looked at Chimney "Sorry I thought you meant my truck" he apologized. The comment made the officer roll her eyes, "This is your truck?" Bobby questioned, looking at the owner of the truck. "Yeah, but it's not like I backed into her. She did this out of her own free will." The truck owner defended himself.
