Chapter 5

 2x06: Dosed

Today the Martinez girls were going over to Maddie's place to help her move in, "Hey Lena, you're gonna meet Aunt V's boyfriend today" Marianna jokingly tells her thirteen-year-old niece, Lena. "Boyfriend, really Aunt V?" Lena asks from the backseat, "Yeah they're dating, they've gone out for coffee like 10 times" Lizzy adds with a playful eye roll. "Not dating, and not my boyfriend. We've only gotten coffee two times" Verónica clarifies, her eyes still focused on the road ahead.

The girls arrived at Maddie's house shortly, "Thank you so much for coming to help" Maddie graciously told the girls, Mari and Veró shook their heads "That's what friends do" Marianna responded warmly.

"Thanks for letting us bring the gremlins" Verónica jokingly quips, wrapping her arms around her niece and foster daughter, "The more the merrier" Maddie smiles, giving each girl a task to help her with. Verónica was put to assist Eddie and Buck who were bringing in the couch, "Maybe we pop the hinges off the door" Eddie spits the idea out. "Or we use the jaws of life" Buck adds

"Boys we are not destroying her house on the first day" Verónica firmly tells the two men. Maddie comes out, "No No No, it has to fit. I measured it twice" she informs the trio, "Can't you guys turn it around the other way?" Maddie tells them using her hands to demonstrate. "And then the pizza will slide off" Buck points out, Maddie looks at her little brother shocked "You have pizza on my new sofa" Maddie grabs the pizza boxes. "It's on the plastic" Buck defends, Maddie looks between the two men, shaking her head as she walks inside. "Ok, boys back to work" Veró exclaims, clapping her hands together. The men grabbed the sofa as Veró navigated them in, "Alright Pivot" Eddie grunts.

"Pivot, Pivot" Veró says, quoting friends, causing Eddie to chuckle at the girl's words. Verónica stands by the door chuckling as the two firemen grunt as they carry the sofa in. "Lift with your legs" Chimney yells from where he is explaining Maddie's new security system, Veró smiles to herself as she thinks how cute the two would be together. The duo successfully brought the sofa through the door, "Hey, thank you, guys, for helping me on your day off." Maddie tells the group. Veró gets closer to the woman, "It's fine we wanted to" she smiles at Maddie. Eddie comes behind Veró, grabbing the pizza boxes "Don't worry about it. Plates?"

"Countertop, Kitchen," Maddie says, as Eddie and Veró enter the kitchen where the other three girls are. "Pizza," Veró exclaims as Eddie raises the boxes. She smiles at the man's antics and begins to grab a pizza, starting a conversation with Eddie.

Marianna, Lizzy, and Lena stood together, glancing at each other as they observed Eddie and Veró, lost in conversation, smiling and laughing. "See what we meant in the car" Lizzy whispers to Lena and Mari, "Yeah I definitely do" Lena whispers back smiling at her aunt and cousin. "Aunt V and Eddie, I ship it and we should make it sail" Lena adds, causing the other two girls to raise their eyebrows at the young girl's suggestion.

Verónica opens the door of her patrol car and immediately crouches down, the air from the helicopter propellers blowing debris all over the place. "Hey Stay down, stay down" Athena shouts to all the officers on scene, Veró kneeling walks over to Athena who's making her towards the 118 who had arrived. When the two female officers approached Bobby pulled them behind him.

"The pilot radioed, they were having mechanical trouble" Athena explained to Bobby, Verónica glanced at the plane and pointed. "Looks like he tried to put it down in the field over there, but obviously failed miserably" she explained, an annoyed look adorning her face. Bobby looked around the corner of the fire truck, "Yeah, it got close" he pointed out.
