It was night already. Hoseok was still reminiscing about the past memories, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke of the laughter, the adventures, and the quiet moments you shared together. But you lay there, silent and still, unable to hear his words, unable to respond. He knew that, but still he held on to hope, a glimmer of light in the darkness, that you would wake up, wrap your arms around him, and comfort him, forgive him, love him.
The maids called out to him, inviting him to come and have dinner, but he refused, his eyes never leaving your face. But there was no way he was going to bed without eating, not when Jungkook had personally gone out to buy his favorite food, specially cooked by Jin. The aroma of the dishes wafted through the air, tantalizing his taste buds, but he couldn't bring himself to move, to leave your side, even for a moment.
"Hyung, come on, you need to eat something," Jungkook said, his voice soft but firm, as he placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Jin Hyung made your favorite, just the way you like it."
Hoseok's eyes flickered, his gaze momentarily shifting to Jungkook, then back to you, his heart heavy with longing, his soul aching with sorrow. He knew he couldn't stay there forever, but he couldn't bear to leave, not yet, not when every moment with you was precious, every second a gift.
"Hoseok Hyung, please," Jungkook said, his voice laced with concern. "You need to take care of yourself too. You can't keep going on like this, barely eating, barely sleeping. You're not doing anyone any good, least of all yourself."
Hoseok's eyes flashed with determination. "I'm fine, Jungkook. I just...I need to be here, with Y/n. I need to be close to Y/n, to feel Y/n's presence, to remember the way Y/n used to make me laugh, the way Y/n used to hold me..."
Jungkook's expression softened, his eyes filling with understanding. "I know, Hyung. I know how much Y/n means to you. But you can't keep living in the past. You have to find a way to move forward, for your own sake."
Hoseok's gaze dropped, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He knew Jungkook was right, but he couldn't help it. He was trapped in this limbo, unable to let go, unable to move on.
Just then, Jin walked into the room, a tray of food in his hands. "Hey, guys," he said, his voice gentle. "I brought some dinner. Hoseok, I made your favorite, just the way you like it."
Hoseok's eyes flickered, his stomach growling at the sight and smell of the food. But he shook his head, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm not hungry, Hyung. Thanks, but...I just can't."
Jin's expression was understanding, but he didn't push the issue. Instead, he set the tray down on a nearby table and sat down beside Hoseok, his presence a comforting silence.
The three of them sat there, surrounded by the quiet of the night. Hoseok's eyes never left your face, his heart aching with every breath. He reached out a trembling hand, his fingers brushing against your cheek, his touch gentle. "You're still in there," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "I know you are. I can feel it."
Hoseok's eyes locked onto yours, his gaze intense. "You're my everything," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "My heart, my soul, my everything. Don't leave me, please. Don't leave me behind."
But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, Hoseok's hope began to flicker, like a candle in the wind, threatening to extinguish the last ember of his soul. His grip on reality began to slip, his thoughts consumed by the darkness that had taken you away from him. He was losing himself, losing the battle to keep his heart beating, his lungs breathing, his soul alive.
Your birthday was approaching, a bittersweet reminder of the joy and love you had brought into Hoseok's life. He couldn't believe it had been months since you'd been taken away from him. It felt like an eternity since he'd seen your badass and savage style. He remembered the way, how your reply used to shut his mouth up. He just chuckled....
