Hogwarts was huge, looming over us as the carriages came to a halt.

"never seizes to amaze me.." blaise commented.

"i didn't realize how beautiful it was," i replied. "i always knew it was big but... wow."

Draco rolled his eyes at us, as Pansy dragged him out of the carriage, and blaise, Mattheo and i followed. as we started walking forward, a figure large enough to block the entire walkway stepped in front of us.

"are you Aria?" he said in a scruffy voice.

"y-yes," i stuttered.

"oh good! yer come'n with me!" he said reaching toward me.

i jumped back as i asked, "umm.. why?"

" well yer new aren't ya?" he responded. i nodded slowly, " well then you'll need ter be sorted!"

"oh!" i exclaimed realizing what he meant. "yes yes!" he smiled and turned , beckoning for me to follow.

as we joined a group of young students lined out side of the castle, the man introduced himself as Hagrid, keeper of keys and grounds at Hogwarts. then walked toward the front of the group and opened the castle door to reveal an old lady with her hair in a tight bun, and wearing emerald green robes.

"hello students!" she called, as kids heads turned to look. "i am professor McGonagal, and will be the one to lead you to the sorting ceremony," she then turned towards me, "miss Strayers, you will be the first to be sorted due to your age, please follow me." i did as i was told, and pushed my way through the crowd, following her inside.

the inside of Hogwarts was grand as well; stone walls, moving paintings, giant chandeliers, and suits of armor that lined the walls. i could've spent an eternity just walking through the halls of Hogwarts, but the walk was cut short as McGonagal ushered me into the great hall.

the hall was filled with laughter and talk, luckily no one seemed to notice me entering, that was until Dumbledore stood up at the far end of the hall, and boomed loudly, "quiet, quiet! the sorting has begun!"

all eyes turned toward me, i seemed to shrink under their weight.

but as i finally reached a small stool near the end of the hall, McGonagal stopped me, "just sit right there my dear," she said sweetly, lifting the pressure just the tiniest bit. she then plucked a large pointed hat of the ground and placed it on my head.

suddenly i heard a voice in my ear, "ahhh, courageous, but clever! ambitious yesss, but very loyal nonetheless... better be.. SLYTHERIN!"

the hat was pulled off my head and McGonagal pointed to the table where pansy, draco, mattheo and Blaise were sitting.

I hopped off the stool and practically skipped to the Slytherin table.

that wasn't so hard.
